I have this book Foods that harm foods that heal. I have always believed that some foods and herbs had healing power. I know a lot of cultures use certain foods for healing and other uses like ceremonies. I am curious of your experience with healing foods or herbs. Have you or anyone you know used them? which ones and how well did they work?

tawa-tawa plant(EUPHORBIA HIRTA) a wild plant in the Philippines can cure dengue fever. dengue fever is prominent during rainy seasons. elderly would say that the plant can cure. all you have to do is decoc the plant and drink the juice. you can also add sugar to suit your taste. Also, many doctors advise to drink it nowadays, especially if there are lot of patients and medicines could not accommodate them and patient care is less observed. as a pharmacy student, i wanted to discover it myself. i ask permission to use our laboratory and tested the plant. i found out that the plant contains flavonoids, a property of the plant that can lower the fever caused by the mosquito hereby white blood cells would eventually increase in number leading to a cured state. i think drinking thrice a day could help a person gets better.. hope you could find this plant if you're interested :)

THERE ARE DEFINITELY foods that harm and foods that heal! Foods that heal are whole unprocessed food such as vegetables & fruits, grass-fed meats, free ranged poultry, wild fish, nuts & seeds, unprocessed oils... Things like that. Foods that harm are processed foods, bagels, bread, donuts, etc... fructose, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, dairy, etc... Definitely stick with the foods that heal, people who tend to avoid the harmful foods tend to feel crummy when they indulge again. http://youtu.be/EqF85BCvA6I

Wintergreen was great for making me not sore and giving me energy when I went canoeing. Dandelions cleared my lungs out during pneumonia. Susun Weed or is it Suzun Weed has a great bunch of videos on Youtube. She's cool. she has used plants for just about everything.

I was really sick with a bad cold about a year ago. I could not get any rest as I could never lay down without coughing. One of my staff told me to mix a teaspoon of tumeric with warm milk before going to bed. I was desperate so I tried it. It worked! Now I swear by it! It is a natural anti-inflamatory and helps with so much more.

There are whole lot of foods and spices which have healing effects on our body. This is because their enzymes, hormones, Vitamins and minerals. Foods, fruits and vegetables like onions, garlic, turmeric, lemon grass etc have extra power of healing besides fruits like banana, cherry, mangoes, apples, guavas etc also have healing powers. There are so many of them that an entire book would not be able to contain all of them. Nature has provided us so much to go without any artificial support.

Natural foods like fruits and vegetables heal because of their natural substances or nutrients our body needs in its healing activities. You supply your body with these nutrients, and it's your body who does the healing. It's your body that heals itself.
