With all of this problem. rent bills over due, electric bills over due, water bills over due, creditcard bills over due. I'm really tired of all of this. I'm hoping that I can live in an island in a hut with nothing to worries. No bills nothing, only to go fishing or haunting when I'm hungry. I wish my life is simple as living in life 50 years ago. when every thing is more about friendship than money. Now a friend is a friend if you have money.

Hello there. Everyone have their own problems. The cause of the problems can be anything. But when someone thinks that the problems is too much of a burden for he/she, he/she would start to think about getting away from those problems. So I guess it is normal to think about living in someplace alone. Living alone, is somewhat good but it is not the best solution for all of our problems. Sure for quite sometime our problems will be reduced, but when we become sick who will attend to us and take care of us? What if the sickness we acquire is making us less mobility? So to say, living alone isn't the best solution to our problems. Today my friend, is a world where people are attracted to those who have money. I too wished the same, the times when one can still continue to live on even without a lot of money. Though I'm born in the Y-generation children era. :) Happy myLotting !

Oh I see. Having some debt is really a burden to oneself. I too have some debt but not with any organisation but a few of my friends. So, my burden isn't as heavy as yours. Anyway, for how long have you been jobless? Why are you jobless? Is your current daily income only last for a day and a night? Do you have the skills to apply for a decent job? If you don't, then I suggest you try to learn some skills like repairing automobile. This is just some questions you need to ask yourself in order to survive in your current condition.

Yeah as they say. if its too hot get out of the kitchen. Problem with my problem is that you can't run. You can't hide. If you don't pay your debt the interest will just keep on increasing. The best way to solve this problem is to pay all of my debts. Problem is that I don't even have a job.

Come to one of the islands of the Bahamas. We have many of them that are uninhabited. Even better live on one of our Cays. I don't think I would want too much of island life. I always tell my family "I am a city girl" when they ask me why I don't come and visit them on an out island. Tried it for one week and nearly drove myself crazy. LOL

I guess you have fun in city life. Anyway I'm from the Philippines theirs 7,107 islands in our country so theirs really so many islands that I can buy and some are very cheap also. But problem is how to maintain it.

What in life is normal anyway? I think that many of us really have these days where we just want to get away from it all. And I do mean it all, as in everything, every single pressure of life, every single person that annoy us with the most insignificant thing. The things that are just going drive you absolutely around the bend and make you want to pull your hair out. Life has really changed. And life will continue to change. Where we were five years ago, where we are today, and where we will be five years from now, it would be intriguing to compare and contrast them but they will be three rather different things. Of course, that type of simple life will never come back, unless we absolutely isolate ourselves and isolation is not what it used to be.

I guess theirs no boundary between normal and not normal. Lets face it theirs no such thing as normal. 1,000 years ago many believe that the world is the center of the universe. 500 years ago many believe that the world is flat. But now they all turn out to be false. Today we don't believe alien exist. But I'm sure 1000 years later half of our planet are aliens. lols.

I agree with your reflection on the money. Money affects people's life more and more each time. But in fact, has always been this way. The economic part, is the one that moves society. I disagree about is what you wrote about life fifty years ago. I don't really think it was very easy to live fifty years ago, and even worse, earlier in the era when there were no other means of subsistence than hunting, fishing and agriculture.

Why are you born 50 years ago? In my country 50 years ago 1 U.S. dollars is equal to 1 Philippine Peso. Philippines is only second to Japan in asia in term of economy and in term of Armed force. That's how strong Philippines is. But now the value of Peso is 1 U.S. dollars is equal to 45 Pesos. That's how much we sink.

There have been a lot of changes in the last fifteen years, I agree. All the world, the entire world is suffering from economic crisis. Is not only your country Philippines that is sinking. take the case of the United States, they've been the strongest world power for many years, but what's happening now? They are sinking, and Asian countries are rising. We're living a change, a big one. The world in fifty years will be different as we now know. Current times are hard, very hard, but it does not mean that living before was easy.

I guess the way we should live our life now is to become a responsible person. We will not fall into all these over due when we are responsible on our bills and credit card usage. Though, we cannot blame other because nowadays, money is the center of life because without money we can never move like our government, if we are not giving them extra then they will not process our documents immediately. Sorry for saying this but that is reality about our government. So we are now drowning into debts because of our irresponsibility. if only we can escape from all of this I am one of the happy person but unfortunately we can't. We need to face it and solve it. We just need to trust ourselves and believe in God.

I am not so surprised to hear that. As we live in the big city, everything is in a hurry and we suffer a heavy pressure. And our life is in a routine. It can be boring one day. Living in an island seems to give you a freedom and it is very enjoyable. This is a life that the people who live in a city look forward to. I love China

It seems that's human nature. We like to have a successful life but we are still has animal instinct I guess. Its still good to spend our time in the wild sometimes. Although most of use who live in the city our whole life really don't have a feel to go to country side.

I do sometimes, when these problems like work problems, family problems, and friends problems wanna make me out of this earth and live in another planet. Somehow we need to voice out and let our loved ones know that and they should care for us in return, I hope I can get rid of this feeling as soon as possible as in reality living in an island is not my way of living.

That could be but it's not normal if you're alone in an island. You may be alone in your home but there must be neighbors for you to meet, otherwise it isn't normal. Remember no man is an island...

Of course no man is an island. Why do I want to be an island? just kidding. Hermits do live alone, monks do isolated them self. Sometimes the best way to have peace of mind is to be alone. Beside I been social for half of my life. I want to give half of my life to be alone with myself.

Everyone will come to this thought atleast once in their life time. But I don't think it's normal. It may not be a complete solution for your problem. We people are born in this world to mingle with people and enjoy our life. But if you go alone you may not be satisfied all the time. Please avoid thinking like this.We have so many things to come across in our life.life is full of ups and downs.we should take every thing for granted and act accordingly,I guess from your words that you have some problem. It will not be continued for your life time. Please try to avoid thinking like this and enjoy your life happily.

It is normal. For me it is. Since I grow up in a farm and since even if I'm going to be rich person I will still going to do the same. Sometimes its really good to be alone in the wild. This is my most peaceful moment when I was a child. If theirs so many things in my head I go up in the mountain to relax.

Hi, It is totally normal that you want to live alone. I think of that kind of thing once or twice.. I dont even remember. Sometimes life is just too complicated that you wanna run. And I agree with you in a friend is a friend when you have money. But, honestly, there's group of people out there who will be your friend, no matter if you dont have money.. maybe u just havent found them.. Be positive in life, friend. Everyone gets his own problem..

Sometime i wish that aswell, a more simply world where everything isn't about money, but about what really matter, friendship and stuff like that. So yeah i think this is pretty normal to think, because sometimes we all just wanna go away from all the problems in our lifes.

If you don't have money I guess friendship does not matter also. Unless your friends are also like you who is broke. I have lots of friends but they also have their own life and its hard to be a heavy weight every time are you going out because they want to eat in this and do that but since you don't have money you can't go.

This thing is normal. I think this happens to many people other than us. I always think about living in an beautiful island alone or sometimes with my loved ones when i feel alone or just sick living in the town. I just feel liberated living in an island because we can get healthy fruits everyday, fresh fish and all that. We may have to work have on doing all those fishing and stuff, but at the end, it's happy there.

In all honesty, some pacific islands are for sale. Yes they may only be a few hundred square metres, but its something and the going price isn't too much! Investigate!

If you check the price online its rely exaggerated. I grow up in an island community and islands in here has no value. Lets face it. Locals like me don't want to live in an island. its inconvenient at all. One of the island that was been sold was only been sold by 10,000 dollars.

When i meet problems which i feel hard to solve, i will want to be left in some place where only myself there. Though living in a island alone can help you get a lot of annoying things away, it is hard to make a better life only by yourself in such a situation, for you have a lot of things you can not make it only by yourself. I think when you are confused, you can stay alone for several days, then go back to the real world to face the problem in your life.

Actually I prefer to have that kind of life. I grow up in a farm and my happiest moments are in the farm so I guess that's the reason why I love to stay in an island. Because that's my life before. I live in the city for ten years now. And its seems theirs just too many stress in the city. That's why I prefer to live in the island.

Good day bulastika, With what you want to your life is normal. Maybe you are just fed-up with what is happening to your everyday life. As you have mentioned regarding the problems that you are encountering. However, if you will be moving and living in an island, you should also consider the advantages and disadvantages of being in a place like that. Although it is different to what you are experiencing right now, hence, living in an island is not as simple as you think. As there were no internet connection, no extra amount of electricity to use, the communication is very less and the means of living is like in a medieval age. Thus this is somehow the description of life living in an island. In addition to what you have posted, perhaps, you didn't find yet the true friend. As a result, you have ended up saying, you will just have a friend if you have the money. Consequently, not all people is like that, although generally but there are some who are exempted to that rule. Hoping that you find the peace. Continue to pray and believe that God will give it to your very soon.

I think you have just described my dream life! I am definitely one of those people that believes life has become far to complicated and that we don't NEED half of the things we think we do. I know I can survive without electricity ect. I know I can live off the land and use my available resources to get by and to create a life worth living. Yes it would be difficult, but in a way that would be rewarding! Not the type of difficult that I have now where the bills are always looming and the cost of living always seems so unattainable! Sadly, in this day and age, even just to purchase a piece of land to call your own so that you can start living that back to the basics type of life, you have to have large sums of money and perfect credit! Aside from squatting on someone else's property, you can't simply just go off in the woods and live on your own terms. Someone already owns those woods! Your post has struck a nerve and I think I will make it my mission to attempt to "get off the grid" so to speak. To start my attempt at eliminating the extra's that I really don't need. De junk my life and my use of the unnecessary and make a plan to get rid of all the overhead costs. Plant a garden to save on groceries, enjoy candle light instead of turning the lights on at night, get a clothes line to dry the clothes instead of using the dryer! The list can go on and on.... So thank you for your post, it has inspired me to make a change!

I guess I'm not the only one who dream a life like that. Believe me I also love city life. But I grow up in a farm so my heart is always in the farm. I stayed in the city for 10 years and I also enjoy life in the city. So I guess what I'm going to do is spend my six months in my island and spend six months in the city.
