Hi, there. In the eyes of many people, to be an employee is a bad thing. In fact there are lots of good reasons to be an employee. For example, being an employee is a great way to learn how a business works so that you can open a business of your own.And you can have a paid education .what's more, you don't worry about whether the business is successful or not. You just focus on your work and get paid.To be an employer, you will grasp the whole business, make an over-all plan about all.If one tache of his business doesn't work, the whole business will be affected, the employer has to keep an eye on his whole business all the time which calls for much energy.Mylotters, what's your opinion about this? I'm glad to hear your voice.

I think that there are advantages and disadvantages about both things.
When you are an employee you have to do your job, but you don't have the overall responsibity like the employer. You know that you will get paid every paid every month and you know much money you earn per month. On the other hand you have to do as you are told, you might have to work for a boss that you don't get along with and you can get fired. Your employer might make changes that you don't like, but you can't do anything about that, because it is the employer who has the final word.
When you are an employer you are able to make your own decisions, You have the power to hire or fire people and you can make the changes that you want, but you also have a big responsibity. If something goes wrong you will have to deal with the consequences. If your company goes bankrupt, the employees will "only" lose their jobs, but the employer might lose all of the the money that he or she has invested in the company.
I am employee at the moment, but I would like to be an employer, and my husband and I have talked about started our own business one day. So far it is just something that we have discussed, but we might do it one day in the future.

First wish you success in your business.
To be an employer or an employee isn't easy.both of them have their disadvantages and disadvantages. If someone is good at being a boss, he will deal with his business without any trouble, and make his business bigger and bigger,in which case he or she will enjoy being a boss. While an employee only earn his salary however big the business is.

A pleasant day Archaiwy,
With reference to your main discussion, frankly speaking, being an employer and an employee plays an advantages and disadvantages of their own. As what you have said in your explanation. So I guess, both of it is better for me. Just like what I am experiencing right now, whereas before, I was an employee, serving a British Employer, but now, I am trying my best to manage my own business. And hoping to hit my target and be successful very very soon.

Well most employers tend to start as employees. In general at least. Obviously you tend to learn a great deal about the business. And if you have a bad employer, that really makes a lot of bungling decisions and really messes up people, you do have a pretty good idea of what not to do as an employer, should you rather make that final step. It is a case study for the future.
Of course, being an employee means that you are a replaceable part of a bigger machine. If you tend to make the wrong choice, you might find yourself looking for other employment. There is no individuality, you are part of a team. There are many out there who would kill for your job, so it is unwise to rock the boat. Being an employee can have advantages and disadvantages as well as being an employer. But all of them are a valuable learning experience, even if the lessons are painful.

I have honestly seen both sides to this. My husband owned his own company a few years ago. He was so stressed all the time. He had a hard time relaxing when he got home because he was so worried about making the customers happy and worried his guys did not do a good job. Then he had to worry about the money aspect if a customer did not pay the right amount then he would be short on pay for the guys he hired. It was a mess. I was the secretary for the company and that was not easy either, having to occasionally hear my husband wasnt doing a good job with his company...
I could never be a boss. I would never be able to fire anyone or tell them what to do. I have a hard enough.time when my kids are upset with me, lol.
I would rather be an employee to be honest. Do my job, go home and not have to worry about the paying other people and bills for the company.

I have the same feeling as yours.Indeed being a boss is very hard, he or she must handle the whole business.Although he or she looks happier, relaxing ,he is busy all the time in fact. But an employee needn't worry about this. What his work is doing as the boss tells him to.

For me it doesn't matter if you are employee or the employer. It's just the matter of how the way you work and what type of person you are. Some people are just hard working as employee as they just have to work on one task given and you can give it your best to do it perfectly and at the same time learn how business work until he time where you can open your own business to support your living. To be the employer you have to handle a lot of things because you have to make sure it is perfect so people will see your business as professional. Some people like to see perfect thing so they will handle some of the employee work to make it more perfect. But for me, i think i would like to be the employee for the time being to see how's business work since i would like to open my own business in the future so i won't mess up when i'm in that stage.

I agree with you ,as everyone has his or her strong and weak point. Someone is good at being a boss, he will handle the whole situation perfect. While someone who is a good employee may not be a good boss.So it's hard to say which is better or not. What counts is that what kind of work one is fit for.

In my own opinion, being an employer or an employee is just an option. Actually no matter we have being which one, it good for ourselves. In this life we need to feed ourselves and our family, so being which one is just an option. If we have a chance for being an employer that's mean we have high responsibility about our employees and their lives. If we have a chance for being an employee that's mean we have to responsible with our employer. Which one is you, that's just an option. But to change that option, i mean from an employee to be an employer, there's so many things we need to learn before we can really be a good employer. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

If given a chance to be an employer, I would rather accept it. Definitely, we don't have a company so I'm just an employee. I know that being an employer is a lot of work but also it is through your supervisions and strategies that the company become successful. Right now I am an employee and I love it. The salary is not that high but enough to live with simplicity.I am doing my work as an employee and be part of the success of the company. Sometimes, its a tough job yet it improves your skills in doing the things that you loved the most. For me, to be an employee is as better as to be an employer. It only differs on the job descriptions.

If you are a follower, only care about what you yourself do, willing to earn what is promised, you will like to be a employee. If you are a leader, able to look after the whole business, earning unlimited incomes, you will like to be an employer.
Employee always work shorter hours than the employers. Employee enjoys paid annual leave or public holidays while employer always work 365 days. I think it is up to the individual to select which of these 2 that is more suitable for him/her. But just a word of caution here: if you are an employee now and you do work very hard, you may one day become an employer and work even harder and longer hours.

I understand that being an employer is a much bigger responsibility and more stress, maybe an employee can put away the work and relax on days off, but an employer probably can't.
For me it's easier to be an employee, although not in every circumstances. As an employee sometimes I was expected to do so many things that I couldn't have done even if I had multiplied myself. At times employees and employers are under the pressure of the people they depend on.

for me it is better to be an employer because you own your time. and by owning your time, you can have the choice to stay with your family or bond with them, have more time with them simply because you are the employer, not just like an employee, who holds more responsibility and needs to be hands on, they cannot choose to spend more time with their families because their time is constrained with their work.

Employer is the person who holds it's own time, yells at all time, get higher salary, longer vacation and more. The employee, on other hand, must follow the office time, being shouted at, lesser salary, always doing overtime without pay. you're not going to be rich if you're working for someone. be that someone! :)

it all depends, but for most of course being their own boss is the way to go and well i would say that for me, now i am okay to being an employee until i find the best amount of money i can get to put up my own - and make sure it would be a success so as to be secured with cash flow. businesses are great risk especially now a days.

Not all place you work pay for you to go to school and not all jobs that a person as can make it easy for someone to go to school.
Me I hate being employed when I was. I didn't mind the work or the pay I was getting it was the people. I'm not a people person to much. I hate adults I don't work well with them. I like kids they are easier for me to be around. So its just natural for me to be a stay at home mom. That is my job and I don't get paid for it with money but with hugs its the best job in the world. You don't need to go to school for it and you don't need to do job interview to be one anyways.
I'm always for someone to take a job on and get and experiences you won't know if you like something till you try it out. My husband loved working in the fast food but it wasn't the best job or the best paid but he got laid off so he found a different job which is much better for us now.
