Accidentally I stumble on this reality show from YouTube while clicking one mylotters discussion link about American Idol's latest news. This Date in the Dark is about finding love in the dark to prove that Love is Blind and that personality doesn't matters at all. Participants will meet and date in the dark for few days. And on the final day, they will come to see each other in the light and after seeing each other in the light... They will be given few moments to decide whether to continue the date or not. If you are aware of "The Bachelor/Bachelorette" or "Outback Joe" dating show, this Date in the Dark is totally different. Would you dare to try this reality show in search of true love? It's kind of exciting watching the participants Have a wonderful date everyone jaiho®- blind in love (^_*) 4-17-2012 11:49am Tuesday PT

I didn't know that reality show before I read your discussion, but it made it curious, so I found the show on Youtube and watched the first two episodes. It is was interesting to see the way that they got to know eachother and their reactions when they finally saw eachother for the first time. It must be nerve wrecking to stand on the balcony and wait to find out if you have been rejected or not I am married, but if I had been single I might have tried it. It sounds like an interesting experiment, and I wonder what it would be like to meet a new partner that way. I would be able to listen to the person's voice, touch him etc, but we wouldn't be see to see eachother, so it would be a totally new way to meet another person, and I would be open for that kind of experience.

@ purple, I think they've cut some parts too (I just think so) I've watched other episodes and there were participants who really does a lot of kissing- more passionately (don't know) so, I guess they cut some parts for privacy.

hello Porcospino, Yah, that's too exciting and thrilling. Hearing the voice, touching, smelling the person in the dark. Imagine- after doing those things (touching, smelling and even kissing) you do not have any idea how does the person looks like. The sad part is- yes, when someone waited at the balcony and being rejected. I don't think I would go for it- I am afraid of rejection. But-who knows. Thanks and have a good day

I think that I would also be open to this sort of experience. I am not sure that I would want the whole world watching me as I went through it, so I don't think I would do it on a reality television show. However, if there was a way to do it without all the publicity ... in a more private way but still the same concept, even with two other females, etc. ... then I think I would do it.

I thought that the first episode was good, and I will probably watch more episodes when I get a chance. I must say that when I first saw the guys, I initially thought that Stephen was the most attractive. By the end of the show, however, I thought that Allister was the most attractive. Poor Seth was stuck in the middle all the way through. Still, he was attractive, and it was really sad watching him getting rejected by Christina. On the other hand, I thought it was really cute how affectionate Allister was with Melanie, even though he was not sure how he felt when he initially saw her.

hello purple, I agree with you. I find Allister cute and funny- maybe his real nature since he works as DJ. Sad for Seth really, thought they can have a good chance to know more if Melanie stayed. I was really hooked with show after watching the first episode Thanks and have a good day

Looks great for me I want to try that hahaha. Anyway you can still decide if you continue dating or not if you don't like the guy. This is a good show I know Filipino networks will subscribe and imitate again with this show like Big Brothers and Biggest Looser. But I don't think It is not good idea for me to be in the TV show like that.

Hi jaiho: I think it's an interesting concept but honestly, I am not a big fan of reality tv shows. I think there's something fake about them and they create fake love stories,so I would not be sure if these tv show when people know each other in the dark and have a relationship because of their feelings and not their physical are real or not. hello Alvaro, I don't think people ever fake their feelings- since they can choose to leave or continue with the relationship after seeing the other person in the light. It's really exciting- but I don't know if I ever dare to try this one :p Thanks and have a great week my dear

A bit childish but fun. It remembers me a girl I groped in a train when I was a teen. Not completely in the dark : there was a night light in the compartment and everybody was looking at us, so love was not completely blind, and I can say I have already participated to a reality show like this one. Well, customs were more loose in the 1970's than today.

I wouldn't mind going on the show at all, because if there's anything I've learned from the other dating shows that companies like Fox has come out with, the vast majority of people they get on their shows, are very attractive. I'd feel proud just getting on the show in the first place, because even if it didn't work out on TV, I'd be seen as attractive to everyone watching, so how can you go wrong?

i too watch this show. according to me it is not so good to fall in love with a guy you don't know properly. i don't know how it is easy for people to live together and give away the relationship the next day so easily. love is blind only for people who don't have brain and i will never try these kind of tricks.

hello sanofer, That is your opinion and I won't debate. But I don't think those people who participated on that show have no brains. thanks and have a good day

I am not sure if you talk about the same show we have here on tv but think it is. Personally I don't think it would change anything since you are able to smell and touch in the dark. What would be annoying to me is the whole show with screaming "acts" in it, this is very distracting from the person you meet in the dark. BTW I never saw the whole show I don't like these kind of yelling, screaming, overdueing reactions.

hello Kitty, Well, they're on total darkness that's maybe the reason girls scream when they bump on something- and only a few over-react. Thanks and have a good day

I'd be pretty interested in this show-probably I'm not gonne be able to watch it, as I don't live in the US. I kind of have an aversion of making it into a Hungarian show, because I believe, just for gaining audience, Hungarian TVs would make it too funny by bringing hilarously weird looking people in, or people most audience would find utterly revolting... I hate it when people are being mocked. But the concept, I like. I would be interested how those people imagine the others, and how the reality compares to their theories :).
