i hate it when someone distract me while i am doing something especially when i am writing. it is just that my ideas that i suppose it write down vanished in air. i want to quietly work or write so that i can concentrate more in what i am doing. do you also hate that? what do you usually do when you are interrupted?

I also face the same problems as you. My thoughts and everything scatter into thin air within milliseconds especially when I am distracted while in deep thinking. I also hate it but I can't avoid it.
Instead, whenever those thoughts come back to me, I immediately write them down to put some thought about it later.

There are times that I say my thoughts aloud but sometimes even what I hear, disappears once I get surprised. I guess there is not much sure way to save your memory before getting distracted.
Have a nice day and Happy MyLotting too!

who doesn't get pissed when you are being distracted right especially when you are in the middle of something really important and all of a sudden some up shows up and you lose it LOL.
i don't really get mad when that happens, i mean i get mad but i don't yell or curse when that happens. i kind of like get pissed and then that's it, i just try to tell them not to do it again etc etc i just hope they really don't do something like that again.

I write Every idea down in a note . See I get ideas while I at work , far away from a computer! So I jot down a note , and it triggers the idea. Can you tell Everyone to leave you alone for an hour? Do you have your own place to write, I mean a room with a door? If so , tell Everyone when the door is closed, Unless the house is on fire, Do not disturb you. Good Luck.

If I am writing a poem or a story distractions bother me a lot. I have to write down my ideas or my words really fast, if I don't do that they simply disappear. It is especially important when I am writing a poem. Sometimes I get interrupted while I am in the middle of a poem. When that happens I forget the lines that I wanted to write, I try very hard to remember them after the interruption, but it is too late, they are gone.
When I am reading a book or doing something else the distractions don't bother me that much, because I know that I can go back and read the sentences again. My husband is very talkative and he often distracts me when I am doing something, but in most cases I am able to continue after the interruption, the only exception is writing.

I have just overcome from a similar situation minutes earlier.I was participating in Mylot. She came and sat beside me on a chair and started talking about what she has been doing since morning and why she did a particular work. While talking to me she was constantly insisting me to pay attention to what she was saying.I got disturbed and asked her to let me work. With much difficulty I could make her leave.

When I am reading, writing or listening to music I hate being distracted. Not sure why on the music but I do know music has a calming affect for me. My daughter is the worse at interrupting me doing anything in general. I know she can't help it at times. I try and be patient and teach her she needs to be patient a bit and let others have a say to.

Yes I do. We really need concentration when working especially if its urgent. Distractions removes our mind from work and worst case, we can't finish the job.

I do hate distractions, but I think distract myself more than anyone else. That is the downside of the internet for me....there is so much to see and do that I find myself all over the place and sometimes not getting anything accomplished.

Hiya shy,
Have had plenty of interruptions over the past few weeks so many that for a whole week I could not post on here it was hardly worth the effort in the finish as I was so tired of sorting all their problems out.
More or less I am back to normal but still finding it hard to get back into the swing of it all as I am trying to study something special too and anytime they see me sitting on here the faces are too long as so in the end I have to get up and go back to it another time.
In this House between one and the other the distractions are many its a wonder I get to write anything at all.
Yes I get annoyed sometimes too because I can get to make mistakes and forget what I was writing.
You cannot begin to imagine the noise I put up with sometimes and yet I still manage to write but other Days I just forget it and say it´s time to go.xxx

hi LMB when its family or one's roomie its extra hard as I feel like I cannot just tell them stop go away as they have feelings and yet I am sure my roomie co ld cre less about me really as she will ask me while I am busy typing "what time is it" grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. she has a clock right beside her on her nightstand. why does she have to bother me? And if I snap at her she gets all upset so what does one do?My hubby used to do that when I ws writing papers for college classes due the next day as he would e grump"damn that college you never have time for me" big baby. But when I graduated at 54 he was very proud of m so that helped a bit I can imagine what goes on in your house with your children there and yet you do really well at mylotting good for you.

I hate it when someone is talking when I'm watching a movie or a news on the television. Most of the time I ask them nicely to stop talking so I can hear better and understand what is going on the tv. But when they won't stop, that's the time I yell at them and make them understand that I'm sure they won't like it as well if I'll do the same thing they did while they are watching a movie.

If it's a family member or other people, I usually warn them before I shout at them. But if it's my partner, I bark like a dog lol.. I can be who I want to be when I'm with him but yea, he gets hurt every time I do that lol. But I always warn him never to disturb me when I'm watching something. But of course, if it's something important, I understand ;).

Its very annoying especially when you write and something/someone pops up with a totally unimportant distraction. With me, I am thrown off track for a couple of minutes before I am in the groove again. Sometimes I am so immersed in what i am doing, distractions can well...turn back and walk away :)

I hate distractions. If I'd get distracted,I'd move to a place much quieter so that I can concentrate on what I'm doing & no one can interrupt me.

Yes, I can get like a bear with a sore head if somebody disturbs me when I am writing. I work alone all week, but at weekends I can almost guarantee that somebody will come into my room and start chatting about something just as I am getting into a good flow of writing! I tend to snap, but then I will feel a bit guilty because it is the weekend after all, and I should spend more time, other than the evening with my family.. But I have always tended to work on something 24/7 as my Dad did before me. He owned a car repair shop and Saturday and Sunday was his busiest times for customers and I remember us kids used to go along and be given some little jobs to do around the place. I liked to tinker with cars and engines, but was watched very closely. So Yes, I learned to that work was something to for everyday... _DereK

I hate being distracted when I am concentrating on something. I think that is human nature to be irritated by distractions. I notice I lose my temper when I am distracted too and tend to shout. That really is not good to do.
I try to do a project when I am alone and cannot be distrupted or distracted.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I work at home, so distractions can be a serious problem. I finally solved the problems of noise distractions and interruptions by family members. My family knows I work at home but in their minds they see it as "He is home; therefore I can ask him for help with something." I wear some very good headphones when I am working. They mute most of the external noise and they tell family: "I am working. Please do not bother me." It works very well. They understand the money I earn is their money, too.

Who doesn't? What I hate the most is that sometimes people come to my room without knocking, and usually when I'm watching a film on TV, and talk to me, when they should see that I wanna watch the movie, and when I tell them that I'd like to watch the movie, they become angry. Also, I hate noise from the streets (my window faces the streets), when the computer crashes down and too lous talking and shouting when I wanna study. I don't mind it when I'm interrupted while, reading, though, I mean, that doesn't really distract me from the plot.
