as long as you don't put butter or too much salt on it , then it would be a good source of anti oxidants i think. i forgot what it is good for actually. but i know it is good for health. i would need to read it again. anyway, so i am planning to buy then a pop corn without butter and not much salt. and also the one cooked oven top and not the ones who bought with packs for microwave cooking loaded with butter and salt. but if there are some packs that are without butter or without much salt but i doubt they are selling that kind of pop corn.

Yeah that is likely true, it can be healthy without the butter and the salt. The problem is that to me, it just tastes so bland and really there are things that are far more healthier without the butter and salt, that taste better to me. If I am going to eat something like popcorn, health concerns are going to be something that are not in my mind.
I doubt very much that is going to be a huge seller either. When people tend to eat popcorn, they are going to tend to eat popcorn, no messing around. I have had it once a long time ago and it was not the worst thing that I ever ate, but like I said, it is so bland. There are somethings that on their own, they just fail and there needs to be something extra to make them worth eating.

i haven't encountered that pop corn is actually is good for the body. Because, what i have found out is that is has lots of calories that make people fat because it is cooked in so much oil and there are too much butter and salt putted by some establishment. Maybe when the pop corn is home cooked it could be good, but not always. It can be good only when not cooked using microwave also, since this has it's on dangers when it comes to health. Processed popcorn is not safe also as it have it's own additives.

It is popular in my immediate family. Mom eats it at 8 in the morning, and says that is her "lunch" time, since she is up so early everyday (for what I don't know), but she buys the kind with salt and butter. She is also in her early 70's. Now how on earth can that be healthy? Eeeek.
If you pop your own popcorn and don't add much to it then it should be healthy, and also eat it at a reasonable time, LOL.

i wish i could eat pop corn, but i have braces. i love buttered pop corn, carmel pop corn. i even like the pop corn with sour cream and chives. i agree lightly buttered. i didn't know that pop corn was good for you. i think it has the same benefits of corn on the cob. the natives use to love that kind of stuff, and i think they created pop corn, didn't they?

I pop a bunch of popcorn when I'm on a diet. Then I bag it and put it into the freezer. It stays fresh there and I have it for a snack every day.

I also have read the same article about pop corn. It's true that the 'pure' pop corn really good for our health. As you said, as long as we don't put butter or too much salt on it actually is just leave the pop corn its way. Don't mix it with another ingredients which will changing its purity as a good snack. I think it also depends on how we make the pop corn. As we know that todays we can easily find many pop corn maker machine on the market. But however although here we say if pop corn is good but don't forget to fulfill our body nutrition with balance. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Over here you mostly buy popcorn ready salty or sweet one. It's the first time I hear it's a good anti oxidant (I never eat it don't like it). Does this mean conrflakes is an anti oxidant as well and so is corn???
I will see if I can find more info about it, sounds interesting but I never heard about it and also it's never mentionend as an anti oxidant (mostly herbs etc are).

Well, I don't really believe that they are any popcorn packs that doesn't contained butter or salt, so that's why I never considered popcorn as healthy product. When I was young I ate a lot of popcorn and I loved it, even I put more salt. I ate very unhealthy back in the days. Now I eat very healthy and I eat popcorn rarely. Eating popcorn without salt and butter is incredibly healthy. It builds bone, muscle, tissue, aids digestion, and is good for the teeth. I think it would be a lot more better for kids in school to buy popcorn instead of any kind of snacks and all kind of junk food that kids eat this days. Popcorn is also full with vitamins.

Well, i don't know anything about this but most pop corn that taste good for me are the one that have too much butter and salt. But i don't really into pop corn. Most of the time when i bought a pop corn for movies, i would only eat for like half of the pop corn box until the end of the movie. I actually hate them for what they are because they actually not good for my throat and make me cough really bad. They also turn my sound to someone i don't. LOL.
