hives!!!!

I have had hives now for the past three days, and it seems to be getting worse. I washed all my sheets and clothes yesterday in hopes that this would help, it has not. I have not started any new detergents, foods, jewelry, or perfrume. I spent 2 hours in extended care yesterday for a steriod prescription...which I am on now, but the itching and hives have not gone away...they have multiplied. I Can NOT take antihistamines at all. I am severly allergic to them...yes I know it is rare..that is why I had to go to exteneded care instead of picking up benadryl. How long can hives last? Is it normal for them to keep getting worse before they get better? The steroids has a bad side effect of making my stomach hurt but I can't stop taking it because the itchiness and hives all over out weighs that entirely. Any tips? They itchiness is driving me crazy!
