I have seen it all now, a friend has had her hair cut short like my friend and just like her sister in laws friend and the sister in law.I think what really has gone on here, is that a friend got hers cut short, as she can manage it a bit better, but this other friend has read about my friend having hers done who also had really long hair.I know it sounds sad, but this friend is a person that has to have like all the other friends have and join all the things that my friend had joined, perhaps she wants to really be someone she is not.My friend got an i pod and then so did the other friend, then my friend got a lap top and yes you got it she got one.My friend has joined up on things and she has not mentioned this to the other friend, as she knows she will join them. The friend that tends to copy hardly ever has money, but the friend that that is being copied saves her money.

I remember people used to be like that when I was in middle/high school. Everyone wants to look "in" - so they copy everyone else who is "hip" just to be cool. Bah. I take pride in being an individual - I have no desire to be like friends (hey, if anything, they might want to be like me - ha ha ha). Well, some people don't know how else to be - copying and following just might be easier than being a leader and innovator!!

I think some people have self-esteem issues. They follow others ideas instead being individuals. It is sad. It is good for friends to have things incommon but not copy eachother. Solidarity is one thing, individuality is another.

This girl seems to be following the adage 'keeping up with the Joneses'.Some people feel insecure and develop an inferiority complex if they are not able to keep up with their friends. So they become desperate and keep on doing what others do so that they may not be looked down upon in society.Such people hardly have any money to spend yet they keep on doing such foolish things.

Sometimes the things that other people do can inspire you to do the same thing, but I don't understand people who always have to be like their friends and always need to buy the same things. Maybe they are insecure and afraid to make their own choices. Maybe they admire the person that they copy and think that they will become like that person if they do the same as him or her. I don't like to copy other people, I prefer to make my own choices. My friends are generally more interested in material things than I am. They like to buy new electronics and other kinds of things, I prefer to spend my money on travelling.

they say, if you are trying to copy someone, it is just like wasting the person you are. i wish she could just be herself and not try to please and prove anything to anybody. maybe she isn't mature enough to even realize that.

These things happen a lot with my friends. I honestly think that they actually want to be the same as each other because all of them would follow the most pretty one in their group and thinking they are the same and stuff. I really don't like this kind of behavior because sometimes girls is the most pretty the way they are and they like to change it.

hijoystick I really do not have an answer as I am elderly and all tell me get a hair cut.well darn I like my long hair long,if I had
wanted it short I would have had it cut short. Why must I be like everyone else? why cannot I wear my hair the way I like it?I guess those who want to be just like everyone else are afraid to be different and just want to fit in.i am an individual so why not have my own style, I am unique so why not show it?

My sister and I were just talking about this same topic earlier today, lol.
My uncle is the same way with my father. If my father gets anything my uncle has to get it but it has to be a little better than his.
My father gets so frustrated with it sometimes. I think my uncle just gets jealous or something. Thats the way it comes across to me. Or maybe its an attention thing.
I am not sure why people feel the need to do this. I only do things I want or buy something I really need. Definitely not because someone else did it...
I think its silly and annoying to the original person.
