but do you ever make it your goal to get these things no matter what they are.I try to put a side money, so that I can get the things that I want, but only once I know I can afford to buy them as well as have the money for them.I hate to have to save up and know that I have to wait a while, but this way I know that what I get is paid for and this way I never rush to buy the things that I want, just in case I change my mind.

Its near impossible for me to try and save. I barely have enough money to pay my bills and buy groceries. So if there is something I want, I usually wait til I have the extra money and get it. It may take me it seems like forever, but atleast I will get it evedutally.

this is how most people have to do now a days. most people just do with out until they have the money. i guess you have to wait one way or the other, either by saving up only a little bit of money at a time or waiting until you get the money to pay for the whole thing. credit is what i don't like or do.

I don't do credit either, it seemed to get me in more trouble then I needed :) I rather wait and buy it when I can then spend years paying off a credit card.

I love to save but it is indeed hard for me to save up some money for myself. Ugh!I have to spend some of my money for my sister and nieces. It is horrible but I can't be too selfish and greedy from them. But I am trying to save some money. but it is always a failure since I always run out of budget. I end up borrowing money from a friend which is embarrasing. I don't have a choice. I have to work hard and hard. I hope I could win the lottery!

THis is why goal setting was invented. You set certain goals for the important things you want. Taking it slow is a good idea. Moving into things too quickly can cause problems and mistakes. Waiting for things is a very good practice. Learning patience is a good characteristic to have.

I was reading about the family of 19 kids in Arkansas, the Diggers. They live debt free. Use no credit cards, mostly live off dad's job, their rental properties, buy in bulk, buy from thrift shops, make their own baby wips, make their own laundry detergent and now are using some of the money from their show. They have sent some of their kids down to south american on missionary trips and bought a tour bus which they travel long dstances in they use form the shows money. I brought this up because I can't even buy the stuff I even need! I sometimes I need to borrow money to buy that stuff! I have way to many bills and trying to save money is extremely hard! I hate people who f(cking brag on how they do it! Sure I make money mistakes but give me a break! Nobody is perfect with money! If they are they aren't telling the truth!

Obviously there are many things out there that I am going to want to need. It does take me a bit of time to really sit down and really think of whether that is just something that I really want or something that I am going to need in the end. There are times where I just sit back and try and figure out, is this something that I really need?
I do consider each purchase carefully. If I get this thing now, will it be something that will set me back for a purchase later on? If that is the case, then it might not be something that I will want to get right now. Not to say that it won't be something that I will get right to the future. Who really knows what the future might bring.

Saving for things I need and want is ridiculous! I try and I try to do it! I am on my own. No roommate,no boyfrind,no husband. It is hard and I do the best I can! I am so sick of people who are able to save up money and seem to have no trouble doing it! So when I need my car fixed 90 % of the time I have to borrow money from a friend to get it fixed then pay him back! Sometimes I wish I could win the lottery so I could be able to buy the things I need and want without having to save up for it! Then donate money to worth causes I can't do now and want to!
