I love green peppers! You could add some herbs like rosemary, oregano, sanfron, corriander, basil, garlic, mushrooms, olives, thyme, marjoram, dill, cummin, annis seed, chives, chervil, turmeric, parsley, mustard seed, Summer savory, or cilantro. Not neccesarily all but afew of these could add a great flavor to the peppers or meatloaf.

It's my first time to hear that. It seems delicious. My husband loves peppers and other spicy foods. I think, I'll gonna experiment.

if you make those, be sure to cut the top off the pepper and boil the pepper in a pan of hot water for about 5 minutes , then you make up the hamburger and other ingredients, you can use any sauce you like i use tomato soup, and you can add what ever you like i like riec as well.. just make sure you cook the hamburger and drain, then add the rest of the ingredients and put in a glass pan top with cheese and preheat oven to 400.. cover with foil and bake foe i hour.. comes out very tender and done yum. then i split in half and add more cheese on top and micrwave to melt.. so delicious.. we just started making these.. i did good to have never made them before now we make them alot.. :)

I haven't made stuffed peppers in a long while. The last time I did, I stuffed them with quinoa and used a recipe from a Whole Foods cookbook as inspiration. I'm certain that I added plenty of spices to them--including a bit of salt to bring out the flavor. When the peppers are in season here, I think that I will try out some tempeh-stuffed peppers. I'll crumble some tempeh, mix in tomato sauce, add some spices (including oregano, black pepper and salt) and add in a few other veggies (I'm thinking of carrots and onion; maybe, some jalepenos to give it an extra kick). I do think you need to ditch the canned tomato soup (which probably has multiple forms of sugar, including HFCS) and use tomato sauce (Muir Glen is good; homemade is even better). That would yield a definite improvement in the flavor.

Hi laken, well im not much into stuffed peppers, they are too much like meat loaf which I also eat very rarely... However when I do eat them I know I must use a lot more salt than normal... I have high blood pressure so I rarely add much salt to my diet but that is one occasion I make an exception... All your ingredients sound great and simillar to what my Mom uses... Its just usually a case of not enough salt for me... Lol

lol you sound alot like hubby, he loves salt and will oten say you did not put enough salt or pepper but ever since i over peppered the cooked cabbage he has not said you did out enough pepper lol its funny now... i grilled him a steak for the first time ever, and of course he added more salt, this was his lunch today, im learning how to grill .. and doing quite well.. so im proud of this.. plus it is alot healthy to grill foods.. and alot easier then i thought.. take care and have a fun day :)

Stuffed pepper is what I never made alone, but I remember we put sweet paprika powder and black pepper in it. I can imagine that herbs like basil or marjoram go well with it too, though the yellow peppers we use are not really sweet.

I have never made stuffed peppers, but my mom used to! I really am not sure if you need anything else they sound delicious! But My stand by spice is oregano or basil. You might try adding a tiny bit of one of those in and just see if it adds anything to the flavor. I put one or both of those in almost everything I cook!
