After a long day's work

After a long day at work that includes everything from loaded in-trays, escalations and last minute pile-ups, to bad coffee and a crowded train journey, the one thing that manages to reverse my stress is a long and well deserved shower. How about you?

I think that it is very important to be able to calm down and relax at the end of the working day, because we need to make sure that we're ready for the next day. Because I work on my computer all day, it means that I try and turn it off when I finish work at 5pm and I will then cook dinner, chat to my family, have a bath and maybe watch some television as well. You have to make sure that you don't just think about work for the whole of your life because if you do this, you will find that you just never manage to get anything done at all.

After a long day's work a relaxing massage or spa would be ideal. But still nothings beats coming home to your loved ones. I specifically love catching up with my mom and playing with my 3 year old nephew. I am close to my mom and talking to her gives me a sense of feeling that no matter how tiring work and life in general can get, things will be fine. Also, no matter how tired I am in a day, I always find my nephew too cute to resist so playing with him is one way to relax and just be child at heart.

After a particularly long or tiring shift I enjoy coming home and relaxing by getting on mylot. If it's still yet early in the day, as sometimes it is, I will take a nap and then proceed with coming here. I'll also jump on facebook or maybe play a game or two to calm my nerves.

A nap yes! that works too...especially when the neighbour's kid is in the living room screaming out a nursery rhyme and the sound of your door shutting out the performance, is soothing music to the ears! :)

A long deserved shower is always number 1 in my rituals and sleep to. It's important to sleep. Although before that I like to enjoy watching a few minutes of my favorite sitcoms while eating healthy food like vegetables. Eating something will color makes it seem comforting after a long day at work.
