Wow, I had to look that up, I always thought he's be around forever.. Once again, MandaLee, you shared news with me I didn't know about, thanks for sharing..
My memories are of New Year's back when I was a teen and my friend who was babysitting, and I stayed up and watched him bring in the New Year. This continued every year I had no place to go and this is really shocking to me..

Oh I forgot the most important, American Bandstand..(Yes this ages me, but so what..) I would watch that show on Saturdays to learn to dance since I wasn't allowed to take lessons..

As with everyone...American Bandstand from the time I was a little girl and onward. My whole world changed several times over but Dic Clark...he stayed the same and looked the same. Saw him looking older after his stroke but he still looked good considering his age and most impressive was his spirit...he didn't give up. Amazing man and he will be missed by many. His passing is a loss for future generations who will never know the strength and character of this man. RIP Dic Clark!

I hadn't heard of his passing yet. What a shock! I remember watching his shows on tv and then later he did the New Year's Eve show even after his stroke. That is really too bad to hear of his passong. He had a good life. I watched his rock and roll show for many years.

Di.k Clark in my opinion was an awesome man. One icon I can remember growing up with, and it is truly sad to think he is no longer with us. I do pray for his wife and family, and know Heaven got a wonderful man yesterday. I grew up watching American Bandstand and Rocking New Years Eve and to me there will never be another one like him. At least he did get the pleasure to live a long prosperous life.

I heard about it last night / this morning (very early) and it is sad. He will be missed, I expected he'd live a long life even after his heart attack (or was it stroke?).
He will be missed dearly.

We will miss him so much. He was incredible to be able to live till the age of 82. Modern people like us would probable not see fifties through. However, if your diet consists of organic foods, and keep yourself busy with physical exercises. Hmmm, you reach the age like the Humza.

I am not sure if everybody gets the GSN network, but if you do on Friday at 7PM-12 Midnite Eastern they will be doing a tribute to D ick Clark. I know I am watching it. I just thought people might want to know about this. I miss D ick Clark terribly. He was a great man. On Saturday GSN will be showing Pyrmaid at 12 NOON and 12:30 PM Eastern.

New Years Eve will never be the same for me now. Since I was a young child, I could always recall watching Dic Clark on New Years Eve as the countdown to a New Year began. Watching his New Years Eve party has become like a tradition for me that has lasted throughout my life and I still continued to watch even after his health began to decline. He will be greatly missed by many. R.I.P. Dic Clark.

I was shocked when I heard about it. I wasn't born yet in the 70's
but I watch American Bandstand on Youtube so I know him.

I just heard. I was alittle shocked but D*ck Clark is at peace now! He never fully recovered for that stroke he had not that long ago! I will remember him the most for his "Rocking New Years Eve" show on New Years Eve! I also rmember him on The "20,00.oo Pyramind". He never looked his age! D*ck looked younger then he was as long as I can remember! He will be missed!

I just checked Facebook before I came on to myLot and it seems that an ode to Dic Clark is on everyone's status report (that's how I found out today)! I can't believe it. Dic Clark was a man who never seemed to age - that seemed to be the running joke - and perhaps that's why it's hard to believe - let alone that he was 82! I remember watching American Bandstand as a kid (I can hear that unforgettable theme song) as well as the New Year's Eve specials throughout the years. Here's to you, Dic!

He had a good life and was still going strong right up until the end. He didn't let a bump in the road like a stroke stop him from celebrating New Year's Eve with us.
I am 67 and will always remember American Bandstand. I am watching a tribute to him right now on my local news.
American's Oldest Living Teenager!!! So Long!
