What with posts here about living to a certain age..and favorite icons dying left and right lately..or close to it..Robin Gibb on his deathbed..in my mind i think i'm young and then i look in the mirror and see my Mother..oh to be young looking again..and i don't mean plastic anything..
So i guess if life treats me kindly i may live another 2o to 25 years..
Have you been thinking the same about your life?

Ya know, there are certain things that you grow up thinking "that means I'm grown up."
You know, finishing school, getting married, having kids (not necessarily in that order).
Well, I finished school... in some ways I forget I'm grown up. Oh, I know, I'm fat, I've got white hair, wrinkles... but I don't THINK of myself as those things until I have to look in the mirror (or do something that used to be easier.)
The fact that I live with 2 other women who did the same thing, finished school... kind of makes it like we are still young. Actually, the other roommate, the oldest of us, did finish school, get married and have children (and in that order)... but because we met her after divorce and her kids were out of the nest, she still doesn't seem that different...
So, its always kind of a surprise to look in the mirror and see this fat old lady looking back...

I spend a lot of time searching for the bast*rd who stole my legs and left this pair of old man's legs in their place. Trouble is, if I find him I'm not going to be able to chase him 'cause he's got my good legs waaaah!

I actually have been alot. See my boyfriend is ten years younger than me. With my bum leg and other such things age brings along, It makes me wonder if in years to come if I will be able to keep up with him. If I can't, what happens next? Hopefully he will slow down and wait for me to catch up.

I am 50, hopefully i can get to 70 and even more if possible, but by the way things are going with the environment, the food, medicine and all the illnesses associated with old age, i guess i'll be lucky enough to reach 60, lol! right now, I guess I am little bit worried about my health and too afraid to go to the doctor.

What's the sense of living long, Rosekitty? For me, it is not the length of one's life that matters but how one is able to use the life entrusted us. Just as the Bible says:
"If a man beget a hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial, I say, that an untimely birth is better than he. For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. Moreover, he hath not seen the sun, nor known anything, this hath rest than the other. Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good; do not all go to one place?" --- Ecclesiastes 6:3-6
The thing to consider is really how should we use this life so that we can have a quality and meaningful life that our Creator has intended for us to live. And the Bible has this answer:
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." --- Ecclesiastes 12:13
The reality is, as human beings, we are subject to the passage of time. Our mortality gives in to wear and tear, and even hastened by pollution, free radicals, ozone depletion and other man-made destruction against nature all over. But the good news is that eternal life is a promise we can count on from a God who cannot lie.
"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.." --- Titus 1:3
Nonetheless, if you really desire to live 20 to 25 years more, the additional lease of life, is also given by God who is the Source life (Job 33:4) Remember, Hezekiah who was given additional 15 years because of his ardent prayer and faith (2 Kings 20:1-6)

I don't know why and how,but I always, every moment feel myself young and in my teens. Also I always feel young and fit.I firmly believe that I would be young even in my seventies or eighties. And I don't know why I feel so or how I can feel so.Feelings of old age never occur to me,literally never.I don't have any physical problem and so I never go to any doctor.
But I am not afraid of old age either. If ever I become old,I would welcome it.I know time would take its toll on me and the day would come when people would call me old.Let it be,I am not scared.I love being young and I love being old either.

I'm in my late twenties and I feel like an old woman.I have nothing to give since I have nothing at all like in that song.I only know that things that are important and dear to me, mean nothing to those who surround me.Sometimes I lay in my bed and reflect on my life as if it's coming to and end and everything that has left now are memories.I have classmates younger than me that are not here anymore and I often live like packing my things for a special journey. It shouldn't be like that. For no one, people of any age should feel joy and see something ahead.Maybe these are strange times.
