Sometimes we are just wondering why should we have qualifying matches, group matches etc to select a team with the highest point or the better goal aggregate over 2 legs. Why don't they just let Real Madrid and Barcelona play in the final IF playing beautiful football is the prerequisite? Both teams are known playing the prettiest football in the world now. Why must we let them hit the other poorer teams 10-2 who could not afford the kind of players or do not have the ability to play the beautiful football that those 2 teams play? Until them, we will always have a dream final like everybody wants.

Playing defensive does not mean boring. Chelsea played great defensively last night and weren't boring.

A brave tactic would be to attack, attack and attack? If you were Di Matteo, would you do that? If you attempt to play like Barcelona, the score would be 13-0 with Messi scoring a double hat-trick. Be practical. Know your weaknesses and strong points. Hit their weakness with our strong point and protect our weakness from their strong point - those are wise words, don't you think so?
Barcelona is the best team in the world. How to beat the best team in the world? Be better than them? If that is the case, they would not be the best in the world anymore.
Chelsea did it right. Chelsea did not play 10 defenders. When Drogba scored that winning goal in Barcelona's penalty area, there were other 2 Chelsea players in there. Maybe they played 7-0-3.

Chelsea won the battle, the team is yet to win the war! I think Chelsea proved the bookmakers wrong by stunning the Camp Nou giants by a lone goal. Chelsea had only one shot at goal, the shot was on target and the shot was a goal; incredible! We all have to agree that while Chelsea was well organised at the back and Barcelona players "conspired against themselves" to lose, it's doubtful if Chelsea will be twice lucky.
The game next Tuesday, perhaps, may be the final before the final. I feel if Pep Guadiorla is truly a world class manager, he should device a formula to break down the defence of stubborn Chelsea. He still has to instruct at least two of his defenders never to drift far away from their defensive area, otherwise, Chelsea will more likely play the way the team played at Stamford Bridge and escape with at least a draw.
One other way Barcelona can overcome Chelsea is for the players to endeavour to put the ball in the vital area of Chelsea. This may force Chelsea players to commit costly errors. Moreover, Barcelona players should be ready to shoot at Chelsea goal post from outside the 18-yard box. We all remember Iniesta's strike against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a couple of years ago.

First off if Drogba was injured howcome he never went off the pitch, he just time wastes and should be ashamed of what he does, only people who do not think that the team can cope with the other team would do this.
If you look at Barcelona's home record in the Champions League they always perform better than away.
I am not sure why this is maybe its the crowd or just the atmosphere but at home they have only drawn 1 and lost 1 in the champions league out of the 14 home games they have played.
I think Barcelona will win the second leg, because in the 1st leg Barca dominated and had 78% of possession, they just did not take the chances they had, if they had done then they would easily have won and in my mind already be through.
At home Barcelona will be favourites to go through, I think all Chelsea need to do is lose focus for a second while barcelona have the ball and that will give them a chance to score.
Barcelona's most dangerous player is Messi, I would surprise people and start him on the bench. I would do this because I would let the other players in the team draw players like Drogba into fouls hence getting yellow cards, maybe be physical and force Chelsea to make subs. Then when Chelsea fall for this lets say lampard, drogba get injured in the first half. That has neutralised there threat really then bring on Messi and have him as a focus for the ball and let him work his magic bring him on in 30 minutes.
If Barcelona do this then they will surely go through, I do not see the ref over there buying into drogbas' diving and if he does it there he will be yellow carded which serves him right.
I reckon Barcelona will win 2-0 with the first goal from midfield and the second from Messi.

Chelsea can win the second leg but it will be tough, I felt when they were 1-0 up that they needed another to be more confident about their chances of progressing, 1-0 may not be enough.

i am happy too that chelsea won and i think they did deserve it. The two spanish teams are not out of the uefa cup final after bayern munich also won. What a finals to look forward too! I like the players of bayern, but i think chelsea's determination will win out for them.

I think the home victory was a huge one for Chelsea. More importantly the fact that they managed to keep a clean slate which was very important. I think in the return leg at Nou Camp, Barca would lay siege to the Chelsea goal and it would be the question of whether Chelsea can keep a clean slate and then hope that they can score of a counter attack.
What would also be interesting to see is how much of a toll does the El-Classico have on the Barcelona boys as that is also a must win for them in the league.
Cheers!

Since they are in the semifinal stage all 4 teams can win each other. They had luck on their side today on some chances of Barcelona, or better Alexis was in a very bad day today. I think they'll go to Spain looking more for a goal than a 2nd victory, if they achieve one goal then it would be hard for Barcelona to go pass Chelsea.

I think it will be extremely difficult for Chelsea to resist on Camp Nou against a team whose performance will be at its best, and when that thing happens Barca can demolish its opponents. However,Chelsea must go there with confidence, and if they manage to repeat the excellent defensive evolution they had in the first leg and also have luck on their side,as it happened in the first leg, they can produce the surprise and eliminate the Spanish giants.I wish them good luck and I'm sure they will play a great match in Barcelona.

It was a great result for Chelsea in the first leg. What they can do in the first, they can also do it again in the second. They may even do better! Barcelona is a great team. Their football was truly awesome but they just could not score - a rarity for the Catalan club, Messi especially. Chelsea can frustrate Barcelona again in Spain.
