Jogging just like running is one of the most popular type of aerobics exercise. Many people jog for many different reasons, and many people benefits from jogging differently. I want to know what are the benefits of jogging for you? What are your experiences with it? Does this exercise have it's dangers or drawbacks?

That I can make my own route-I'd jog somewhere tranquil, where the scenario is nice. Also, I like that I can listen to my own music meanwhile. And of course, the no-brainer aspects: it keeps me fit, strengthens my immune system, helps me lose weight and so :).

I use to jog more often before, but now I seldom jog. During those days that I often jog- it gives me more energy and I don't get tired easily. Now that I seldom do it- I easily get tired and I also gained few pounds.

Same here. I used to jog 2 to 3 times a week and do light work-outs 2 to 3 times a week too, making me fit and strong. Because I stopped doing it, I gained a lot of pounds. Anyway, lately due probably to the extreme heat of temperature in my country I lost about 4 to 6 pounds, but this is not due to exercise or jogging but probably losing body liquid due to the high temperature of the summer heat. I will still need to get back to my old jogging habit...hopefully soon.

For me, it makes my heart exercise and help circulate my blood in my body. It's good for the heart and helps me sweat a lot to extract and detoxify. It gives me energy and makes me active. I like the part when I jog in the morning and inhale the clean and fresh oxygen. I feel cleanse when I inhale fresh air and exhale carbon dioxide.

I agree with you. Having an overall good health is one of the most important reason for jogging. As you pointed out, it's also important where you jog because if you jog in places where there are smogs and air pollution, instead of benefiting from the exercise we might find ourselves with lung problems. So a place with fresh air like a park would be best :)

I jog often, probably about 4 or 5 times a week. The main reason I jog is to lose weight as I put weight on very easily so I have to keep on top of it. Also because I play many sports. Joggin helps me with my football (soccer) because it improves my endurance. Jogging also makes me feel good, if I am jogging along with my iPod in and have some good music on, getting into the beat of the music it makes me feel good and I fing jogging can be really enjoyable. I do feel though some people can become obsessed with jogging and begin to be unhealthy in what was supposed to start off as something to improve health.

Do you mean by becoming obsessed is that they feel emotionally disturbed whenever they miss to jog? Anyway, you mentioned a lot of benefits that I also feel whenever I jog. For example, it makes you feel good or it releases endorphins in your brain which they call 'happy glands'. For you it's football but for me it's tennis, so when I play tennis I also have more stamina and speed around the court. The problem is that I have been so lately these past 3 or 4 months that I exercise only about once or twice a week. I will someday go back to jogging...hopefully soon. Anyway, I want to correct my spelling of 'benefits' in my title :)
