Has anybody been sued for telling stories about other people, here on mylot?

Just realized that I've posted stories and examples talking about people other than myself. I've talked about my husband, my friends, my aunt, my uncle, my parents, etc. And, I also noticed other myLotters doing the same. There are good happy stories, and there are also embarrassing ones. Now, im wondering, if anybody got sued doing such. I don't know if public forums, such as mylot, is covered by the copyright law, wherein, if you will cite real situations and real people in any form of publication, you need to get their permission before you can write it up and publicize.

A huge part of the reason that I have no referrals here is because I've never invited my family or friends to join - and I don't intend to. I like the freedom to come to myLot and have great discussions about any topic I wish, without worrying about hurting someone's feelings or upsetting anyone. If my family or friends were reading what I discuss, they would probably be trying to figure out if I was talking about them, specifically Anyway, as others have said, no posting of personally identifying information is allowed here so there is no way for anyone to "sue you" for releasing that.

I actually don't do FB because of the privacy reasons :) But, like you, I feel I can come to myLot and just talk about anything I want. It's nice to be able to express our thoughts and opinions on so many different topics!

They cannot sue you for you are posting anonymously. The only problem would be if you're going to mention your full name here, which is very much impossible. I am sure you never mentioned any names, so there's no problem.

As Forever.... has rightly pointed out being incognito one can have a blast shredding to pieces whoever we have a grudge against. So go ahead and satisfy yourself no matter who it is - your spouse, your friends, mother, father.the list is endless!. You must have heard of the Speakers' Corner at Hyde Park, London!
