Things to do before I turn 30...

I have these things that I ought to do before I turn into a certain age. I've always wanted to try Bunjee Jumping, cliff diving, surfing and lots of TRAVEL. Stuff I can do while I still have the stamina. I feel like life is too short and that when you reach at a certain age you'd be able to say, "Been there, Done that!". I'm actually excited to do some stuff on my list. How about you? Do you have lists on things to do or things you've always wanted to try before reaching at a certain age?

This is an interesting question and has set me thinking. I am 45 and had actually "Been there, done that" in most cases. Of course, I didn't do bungee-jumping or deep-sea diving, but I have done white-water rafting, rock climbing, trekking, camping and other adventure stuff and feel I am not inclined to do that any more. I have also visited the best places, mostly in India, which is a wonder-hole of diversified natural tourist spots. I have educated 15 slum children at my home and some of them are now doing jobs. I have also written 2 books and established myself as an author. So in a way, I have rather done what I wanted to do. It's unfortunate in a way too that I really do not have anything I want to do anymore. These days what interests me is growing my own kitchen garden and relaxing with a book or TV serial, the things I missed out all these years when I was racing against time to build my career and raising my kid simultaneously, and also fulfilling all my dreams. I sometimes wonder, am I at the end of my life? Don't I have anything to look forward to anymore, except perhaps the success of my child?

All the very best to you to achieve your wish list! I envy YOU, that you still have so many things to do... I suggest, go slow, since it's a long life and you may not want to reach a stage like me, where you've done everything and won't have any wishes left... lollss

Sounds like you actually have "Been thee, Done that". I believe when I reach at your age, my goals will change, and kids would be something to look forward to. That's gonna be a different adventure. I envy you, but I know I'll get there. But not soon enough, have a bucket of lists. Lol.

Traveling!!! I so want to travel all around the world. But the problem is "MONEY"! But since it's more fun here in the Philippines, and a lot cheaper than going abroad, I prefer to explore our country first and will be preparing a list of places to travel as soon as I can. Places where we can do some adventures like zip lining (head down), same as what you said: bungee jumping and cliff diving. I've also been dreaming of seeing dolphins. They are cute and intelligent and they don't bite :P.. I hope one day, I can swim with them either in the sea or in the pool. That would be my happiest moment of my life if that day comes. Limit for adventures would be 40-45. Traveling? For as long as I live ^^..

Really? Where? Good for you! I only see dolphins in the movie or television. I wanna try feeding them with fish and ride on their backs like the dolphin trainers do.. -sigh-. When would that be..... T_T

I agree, traveling you can do for as long as you live. As for dolphins, though I've seen plenty of them, I've never actually swam with them. That I would like to try in the future if given a change. Swimming with dolphins would actually be very exciting. I should add that to my list!

Now Broadway, I've seen. And I'm telling you, it is amazing. You should go and watch broadway. It was actually one on my list that I've already done. A little bit expensive but worth it.

I wanted to do a lot of things like traveling, play musical instruments and more! I would want to travel to a lot of place like Paris, Japan, Korea and ALL AROUND the WORLD! I wanted to play every single musical instruments there have in this world! Especially guitar, piano, violin, drums, flute and more! I have wanted to learn to play all of them! And I even wish to draw manga! Besides, I wish to build a music school which combine with an educational school. That way should be nice! There's a lot more than I can say. How I wish I can done all of them before I turn 30.

You can still do those things though. You can learn the instruments. The older you are, the quicker you'll learn. It'll a piece of cake. I have that on my list too, to play different instruments. I definitely want to know how to play drums, that's one of my frustration. I'll do that soon. =)

I have a lot on my list but I can give you the first 5. First is I'm planning to travel some parts of the country. Second, I'd also love to travel Asia. Third, I'd love to get a tattoo (just a little one though!). Fourth, I'd like to get a house of my own and Fifth, is to save some money and invest it for future use. Wow! That's pretty common, right? What do you think? ;)

A tattoo!!!! I actually have that on my list, though I'm having second thoughts about it. Just a small tattoo. I wonder when I'll be able to have the courage to do that. Great lists!

Yeah, I had made a similar list when I was a bit young. I wanted to see some place other than N.Y, P.a, and Jersey. Haaaa, I wanted to see Paris. Crazy how everything seems so possible when your younger.

It still is though. Age is just a number. The older and more successful you are, the more it is possible to do the things you want to do or to go to places you've never been. =)

I agree, Paris is on hold at the moment. I figure I will enjoy it more at a more mature age. By that time, I hope I have Paris money:-)

When I finally realized what I wanted to be when I grew up, I set a goal. I wanted to be a CPA by the time I was 40. I started back to school at 35 or so and actually became a CPA 2 weeks before my 40th birthday. There are a zillion things I want to do before it's too late, and I am whittling away at some of them. I've got a long way to go, but I'm enjoying every minute of it!

I think that having a list of things that you would like to do is very important as it means that we would always have something that we could work towards in our lives and we would not feel as lost as we might if we had no aims or dreams. For me, one of the things that I would like to do before I am 30 is have two children, and buy a house so that we can be happy as a family. This is something that my partner wants as well, and he is a little older than me so he is ready now, so I am looking forward to settling down with him for the rest of my life.

I feel that way more than ever. I wish to "live deliberately .... and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." as Thoreau would say. I am in a rut right now. I work a lot of hours, and have a lot of responsibility outside of work. At my age, and given my circumstances, I face the all-too-fun choices like, "Should I buy my medicine or use that money to buy food?" I am kind of in a funk, and have a bucket list that is out of reach right now. Once things change for me, though, I hope my adventurous side comes back.

Reading your comment makes me think you might not be well at this time. I hope things will turn out fine. I went through illness myself and my life stopped for like an entire year. Went through a major operation. But if you wanna be healthy, you will be. It's a state of mind. Don't stop striving to be healthy and buy those medicine, so you can do the things you've always wanted. Hope everything works out well for you.

It would be great to be able to do those things. I say, go for all of your goals in life. We're not young forever, so go. I have stopped making that list now that I have reached this age. In fact, I just let things happen naturally. But that's me though.

I don't think much about my age, so that many people said that i look so younger than my real age. I just put a goal for every year and try to complete it only, I don't need to wait till 30 or 40 i should do this or that. If we think we can do it now, why don't we do now? don't need to wait till long time later. I also have a list of things to do, but not for at certain age...^^

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I am pretty much crazy about making to do list as it gives me something I could focus on working on. Setting to complete my checklist before reaching certain age gives me a sense of urgency, hence I tend to become more focus on achieving it one step at a time. I have crossed out several things on my checklist but I still have a handful to work on. I think lists like these makes life all the more exciting and worthy to wake up for every single day.

I agree, that's why I have these lists. I think at the end of the day, all we have are these memories. Why not make really good ones that takes away all the stress we go through everyday.
