Have you ever noticed the fact that no matter how strong your resolution is, you always end up spending more than an hour on the internet, even when your original plan was to just 'check my email inbox'? :)

I always do this in the evening and find that I am still on the internet for a lot longer than I had planned to. I spend all day on my computer because I work from home, and I plan to give myself half an hour in the evening to go on social network websites or to play any games that I might want to. After this I like to turn my computer off and give myself a break, but I don't always manage to do this. It is something that I need to start being strict with because I am finding that I spend far too much time on this laptop when I shouldn't really be doing so.

I've given up the illusion thinking that I was only going to spend a certain amount of time on the computer, surfing the Internet years ago. The plan might be, I'll just see what is going on in the news, check my e-mail, then I'll check out this website, that website, and everything that goes along with it. Just go with the flow. I think that actually if we know that we are going to spend a certain amount of time doing something while online, as opposed to just going for the flow, we will fall into that trap much easier. We feel tempted a lot more, if we just go with the flow. Obviously the biggest trap is YouTube. Never go in with the assumption you're just going to watch one video.

Yeah, it's kind of funny because I tell myself that I only need to check my email and end up doing something else. I think that the internet is full of so many things that just checking your email ends up being a million searches into an array of topics. I honestly love the internet and enjoy the way it opens up a world of information.
