OK!!! so how does one earn loot on mylot?

Earnings are calculated over a 24 hour period - midnight to midnight, MyLot time (US Central time), as shown at the bottom of the page. The previous day's earnings are then posted (usually) at between 9am and 11am. There are a number of different ways of earning here. The main one is by participating in discussions either by starting one yourself (and replying to the responses you get) or by responding to other people's topics. The very first thing you should do is to read the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx There are just a few things which are not allowed here and moderation is strict. You will not earn for anything which is deleted so it's good to know what kinds of topics to avoid. It's important to understand two things: 1) You only earn for what YOU type. If you start a discussion and don't come back to post good quality comments on the responses, you will earn nothing more, regardless of how many responses you get. It follows, therefore, that any topic you post should be one on which you can expect to have a lot to say in reply! 2) Your earnings are NOT on a 'per post' basis. They are based on a very complex (and proprietary) system which assesses the quality of your participation. We are not allowed to guess or speculate how this works but, if you read the FAQs carefully, there are a number of clues. Besides the Discussion area, there are Tasks, which are posted by members from time to time. Most of these are fairly simple and will earn you a few cents. Occasionally there are more complex tasks (mostly article writing) which can earn you a dollar or more. Posting relevant, non-copyright photos to illustrate your discussions and in the Interests area can also earn for you. You must not post copyright photos at all, however (most of the images you find on the Internet can be assumed to be copyright unless it specifically says otherwise). Finally, using the Search facility can earn you random Rewards from time to time. This is best explained by reading the FAQs under "Rewards". You may have read that "MyLot is like Facebook" but, in fact, there is really very little similarity. It is true that you can make and add friends but that is just an option which helps in finding and connecting with people of similar interests who may be more likely to respond to your discussions and you to theirs. The big difference is, of course, that you can get paid here for doing the sort of thing you do on Facebook (or Yahoo Answers) and that you can expect the standard of posts here to be somewhat more meaningful and 'meaty' than the comments one sees in Facebook.
