going back to being teenagers

whenever we held high school reunion (we basically do it yearly for twice a year) I have this feeling of being a 15 year old again. When I see my batch mates, when we start chilling, laughing and catching up. It's funny because most of us are chubby now, look physically our age 33-34, we bring our kids in the gathering, we are old and mature, but when everyone get together and bond, aside from reminiscing our secondary years, we're like teenagers again laughing, sharing cheap conversations. how about you, what moment brings you back to being a kid again or teenager?

High school is the best. I just finish my school and i really starting to miss it. We didn't actually have an actually reunion yet, but we see others often and when we do, we actually are the same person who we are in high school but i can say that we are getting better of our self after high school. Its hard to believe that i and my friends have actually finish out school years together.

well, wait like 10 up years to have a reunion after not seeing most for a very long time, and the feeling is very very exciting. just make sure u give ur best in life mostly in job because even though most of them won't judge what u have achieved, some would still have this ego tripping when they become very successful in life and u don't wanna be there just looking at them ok?

If u just finished school you will still be seeing each other often. As sson as everybody starts on their different life journeys and careers, there will be less socialising with each other. Mos of your priorities will also change. That is what makes the reunions so special...to see who preferred building a career to having a family and so on. Enjoy seeing your buddies as often as possible because in a year or two you will only be seeing a few of them!!!

I know exactly what you mean!We had 2 reunions so far and it was very informal. It was a get together at one of our homes and most of the spouses were also there. It really is funny to see how much everyone had changed in 17 years-especially how everybody expanded horizontally!!!!!We even invited some of our teachers and the guys were sooo happy to be be able to have a drink infront of them without consequences! What really gets me back to being a teenager again, is listening to songs from way back them, especially love songs. That makes you remember your boyfriend you had at that time and things you did together when that song played!!lol

we don't bring our partner and kids to some get together, there were times but now they made it a rule not to bring any family because it lessen the time that we can share moments and bonds because we often check kids and partner how they are while we are catching up. It's exclusive just for the mates. Well, sometimes reunions is a temptation, u get to see ur ex way back, get to talk and the feeling comes back regardless of both are taken, then the sin part follows lol

I actually agree with u were that is concerned! My hubby didnt wana go with because he said its our time to remember and he wasn't part of my life at that time so he would just feel out of place. I'm not so sure of the sin part tho!!!!lol

I like meeting up with my friends who I met at high school as it always make me feel like a teenager again and it makes me act like it as well. Listening to some of the songs that were in the charts back then takes me right back to when I was just starting at high school, and it brought back a lot of memories of things that happened and people who I used to know who I don't really speak to all that much anymore. It's sometimes sad to look back when you realise how much things have changed, but you have to remember that life gets more exciting as you grow up as you have more freedom and ability to get things done.

Yeah, some of my batch mate didn't come also because most of them are married and their wives or husbands are jealous. hehhe I am married too and I brought my daughter along with me, but my husband at first got a little jealous.

yes it helps relieve stress and mostly if u have a business its also one way to market,it'sjust funny that on our reunions, the valedictorian never organized it nor the salutatorian and they are nowhere to be found hehe.

Aside from reunions, some of the moment that definitely brings me back to feeling like a teenager again are reading my favorite young adult books such as sweet valley high and the likes. With every written words, memories from my teenage years came flooding back, and it was a nice feeling. Watching old time favorite movies or tv series is a good way to feel like a teenager again. I remember spending half of my school allowance just so I can buy magazines and notebooks wherein Leo Di Caprio graces the covers. Talking to high school friends whether we are having reunions or just chatting over the phone can also makes me feel like a teenager again.

Yah, high school reunions do that. People who attend this have the tendency to forget their real age at the moment and act the roles they used to play in high school. The jester will be jesting a lot, the flirty will be flirting around, the killjoy will still be acting like a nerd, etc. I do not know if what we see in high school reunions are the truth because the participants tend to forget the present and live their lives many years back.

some still acts the same but others I observe change. From being the ugly duckling to being vava voom, but generally, yeah I guess that is not who they really are,it's just the moment that makes us forget who and what we are at the present. thank u ;-)

I think a lot of us has the same sentiments about high school life. I am a little older than you are but I seem to get stuck with those days. My eldest son is now almost 19 years old. I sometimes take him to our get together. He often laughs at us when my friends and I talk about things coz he says that we talk like teenagers until now. hahaha! well, atleast, we are still young at heart.

I always have the same nostalgy whenever I go back to my high school, even thoudh I didn't really like it-if it wasn't for the class community, I don't know what I'd done. My fondest memories: watching "our guys" in the high school soccer championship, sitting on the bicycle holders in front of the school talking, the class turtle, my scholar competitions, class parties, class field trips (and lots of crazy stuff, like what some of us did when they were drunk-they were actually pretty funny... not that I endorse underage drinking), walking the school's dog, the funny things about teachers and the kiwi juice in one of the bilding's penny-in-the-slot... hmmmm... that was delicious :D.

I cannot remember too much from my young childhood besides the warm feeling from sitting in a basket of laundry just come from the dryer my dad teaching me how to ride a bike, and the days my mom would pick me up from my grade school and we would eat and talk while we are waiting for my sisters to finish school . All of these memories leave me with a happy, warm feelings about my childhood.
