Last week, I met some friends for drinking coffee. Most of them have at least 2 cellphones. There are 3 guys who have 3 cellphones; samsung, iphone, nokia types. I asked them why do you have many cellphone like that, for what? The answer is one cellphone for works, one cellphone for friends and family members, one cellphone for using discount phone SIM-card. I really don't understand why they need to use many cellphones like that...
Well, I have only 1 cellphone for whole contacts, and i also don't want to change phone number even though there are many discount phone sim-cards. If changing to use discount one, i also can save a little bit money but i am afraid that when i make a phone call, the receivers may don't know who i am then they don't receive my phone.
And you, mylotters? How many cellphone are you using now? If more than 1 cellphone, could you tell us a reason why?

There are at least a dozen of reasons some people like to have more than one cellphone, the most obvious one is that they are falling in love with this electronic gadget, so they must have several of them in their possession. Other may want to have one for business use and a second one for personal use. While it is perfectly fine for me if all my friends have more than one cellphone, i would still call them with the one number i can easily remember and recognize, the rest of them i just ignore them even if my friend are using them to call me, most of them know that i don't call back if i don't recognize their personal cellphone number, so they never use discounted cellphone to call me or give me more than one personal number for me to keep. Cellphone is becoming a popular tech. gadget for many in today world population, i am sure it is a necessity for many people as communication technology is evolving rapidly every year, most of the people need cellphone to function properly in their every day activity, so some may turn into fervent users of cellphone where this technology play a very important role in their life.

I'm not falling with owning many cellphones, i hardly in that state yet with just one cellphone, so it may need more time for me to develop that feeling. May be i will become like all my friends in the future, must possess more than one cellphone in order to function properly. Cheer and Happy Mylotting! My friend! hehehehe.....

Ya, then you can save much money more ...many guys just change a new phone whenever new phone type appear. And i think it is not worth, just spend money on it. Of course, if we don't care about money more, then updating to use the newest phone is fine, man guys should look up you...^^
Nice to see your sharing. Wish you a nice day!

If someone buys a phone for me, i will receive it all...lol. Then bring 2~3 phones together is not a big problem with me.
Many guys in here told that using a dual-sim is very convenient. Why don't you sell 1 cellphone, and just use one cellphone with a dual-sim?

I hate cell phones. So one is to much! But 3? I know the phones are updated and new ones come out on a regular basis, but they are expensive, and everyone still upgrades constantly....every time a new one comes out it seems. I don't get it. I don't like them as I think people spend far to much time with their hand held devices and not enough time on life itself. And like you say...everytime you get a new phone, you have to program the new one with so many things.I have noticed that if you sign a contract you can get a phone free or pretty cheap...but there again...alot happens in the cell phone world in 2 years... and when you upgrade..you still have to pay state sales tax and activation fee on a new phone.....and if you do month to month...you pay full price for a phone which start at $200 and go up pretty fast. So, for someone to have 3 phones...I can't think of a single reason why. One for work, one for personal? Only if the one for work is paid for by the employer and you usage is monitored for business only use. But other than that...I think thye just have nothing else to do with their time but play with cell phones.
And I have to ask...when one rings... how do they know which one to answer! I guess they program a ring tone for each phone, but then they have to remember which ring tone for which phone ...just something else to have to keep at the front of your memory when it'd be so easy to clear that space if you just had one!

I hadn't thought about the monthly bill for each! That'd be a good sized bill every month. The only thing I can think is that they have the same server...and pay extra for additional lines to the same account...a family plan kind of thing.
My daughter insisted I have one when I was doing day care for her daughter so she added a line to her account for $10 a month. It was no data..just phone and texting and a camera. She did same for her daughter..another $10 a month. So maybe that is how they handle the monthly bill, but still...I am pretty sure that I am among the very few that do "no data" plans...that means you are limited on minutes, texting and no web unless you add those things to your plan. She wants me to do it again now, she changed providers, but it will be $10 on her plan for me if I get a phone with no data and those phones...there are only two to choose from! and if I get any other phone or the web service...it is another $10 a month. Plus...$35 activation fee and sales tax on the phone and if she has a 2 year plan, I can get a phone for free, but without...I pay $200 or more for a phone. Plus hte ring tones..granted $2.50 each one time, but still...you get a ring tone for each phone, and for each contact you assign a ring...$2.50 adds up!
I dont' need it, so I am not doing it. I have no use for it. I was raised without one, I raised my 2 without one and I half raised both my grand children without one...I have a land line...call me if you need me. Only time I think one might be a good thing to have is if you travel or even just drive a ton all the time.. which I don't.

I understand. i used to don't use cellphone for 2 years, and i was OK with it, still keep contacts with friends, family members...even though i lived far away from them. Don't need to pay monthly phone fee, don't need to bring cellphone whenever go out, don't spend much time for chatting on phone...And sure now if i don't have cellphone, i am ok with it too.
Actually cellphones are a tool for contacting if we are not at home and don't have phone line also. However, sometime it may bring troubles to us also. if friends make a phone call and we are not there, they may blame that why we don't pick their phone. Friends call us to ask going out, if we don't go, they may blame too....So that sometime don't use a cellphone is better..^^
By the way, I am very happy to see your sharing. I wish you a nice day!

I don't hate cellphone but i don't often play with cellphone, forgetting a phone at home is my bad habit, my friends said that.
However, you are right ...we have to pay much money for a contract, activation fee, etc for cellphone every year if we upgrade. Then 1 cellphone is fine, can keep contact with friends, family, customers, etc. But if we use 3 or 4 cellphones at the same time, sure monthly fee for cellphones is very high.
Yes, some people in here just like high-teach phone, so that when iPhone appears, they buy iPhone to add to their phone collection. And one day, the other new one appears, they will change their phone also. Their hobbies, i think.
I also don't know who they do manage when 3 phones ring at the same time...they may have to choose which one to receive a phone call first..lol. However i think they are confused in the beginning time only, with the time, they may memorize all phone's tones

using one more phone to save money when you often make phone calls to you boyfriend is a good solution. I was you, I also should do like that.
Yes, no one of us wants to lost our phone contacts, but i used to lost it all because of a thief who robbed my phone on the way going home.
I still keep to use 1 cellphone only, i haven't ever used more than 1 phone yet...:)

I only have one cellphone as does my husband. My dad he has 1 cellphone he use to have 2 for work and they where two different contracts that he was hired for so they had different reasons for it and his work gave them both to him. He doesn't own his own cell phone his works does. He has to be reachable 24/7.

It depends on his contract with the government what they want him to have. The last few years its just been a cell phone that he has on him at all times. Then he has 2 computers one that stays he takes ever where and one that stays at his work. He has never really had and office since I was like 15 because he gets moved around to different offices all of the time with the job he has. But it gets annoying when he wants to go on vacation and he can't really.

Some people have 2 cellphones. They use the other one for work and the other one for personal use. This helps them distinguish the business/clients' contacts from the personal contacts. If you have only one phone, it's hard to label them because they are not organized. For me, it's much easier if you have a dual sim or even a tri-sim phone.

I heard about dual sim and tri-sim but havent ever used it. I think i wont use it...it is quite complicated to change a sim-card and memorize it. I remember there is a function that allow cellphone user do separate phone contacts in group, so it is easy to detect a man in business group or in friends group, right?
I guess you use at least 2 cellphones also...^^

Oh, i love the old model because its battery can be used in long time, for 5-7 days for every time of recharge. Modern type, it looks so nice but i heard that it battery is used for 2-3 days, longest is 4 days. I am lazy type to recharge a phone...:)
Many guys also do the same like you, they use a dual-sim instead of using 2 cellphones. Bring one phone is more convenient than bring 2 or 3 phones, of course...
If you buy a new cellphone, which type will you wanna buy?

Yes, hehehe. But I am trying to buy a dual-sim phone because it's quite a hassle bringing two cellphones. hehehe I also have to change my phones because they are of the old models already.

I only use 1. 2 if you count my husbands.
Seriously though, I don't see the need to have more than one cell phone for myself. It has everything I need on there, including all of my contacts. I don't know, to me having more than one cell phone seems rather costly, not to mention confusing! But to each their own, I guess.
By the way, I'm on a low cost prepaid plan, so I save even more by having just the one phone!
Happy mylotting!

I have a same thinking like you, with only one cellphone, we can save more money. Currently i don't do business so that only phone calls from family member, friends, and colleagues. I also don't use expensive cellphone type, just for calls and text sms only.
It is very nice to see your sharing. Happy mylotting!!!

Right now i got four cellphones, but before i got six, lol! Don't get the wrong impression, but actually i really have one [samsung omnia HD] which i really use normally for family, friends and business and it has the same SIM card number for 2 years now, and the other three are the ones i found on a trading site, which are high-end smart phones, and these are up for sale after i am through with knowing the features and using it for a day or two, then sell them at a higher price, sort of a "buy-and-sell" stuff as as source of extra income.

Wow, using 6 cellphones at the same time, i am so impressed with it. You are the first person who i know that you used 6 cellphones at the same time.
Ah, you do business with cellphones, it is nice. I don't know anything about cellphone yet except its 2 functions: call and text sms. So that i use my phone for it only. Give me an Iphone, i am sure that i still use it as call and text sms...lol.

You have 2 cellphones, same as my friends do...^^Then in your country, one person can own many phone SIMcards also, is it right? Do you have to register your phone number or just easily buy it as in my country?
However, in your case, one phone is yours, one phone is from your company. Most my friends buy all cellphones for themselves...^^

you are right, buying sim cards here is easy and you need not to register any of this. our company provides cellphone to their key employees for easy access and communication. this phone is usually under a plan and mine is unlimited call and text but with a specific network only.

Well, having more than one cellphone has advantages like if you lost one there you still have a spare one, if you dont want unknown person pissed you off or messed with you then you could put their nos to your other phone or if you dont want clients use your personal number then its a sort of you can use your extra phone to "segragate" callers.

Umh, it is sure that there are a right reason for everyone who use more than 1 celllphone. I think you say right also. But if we lost a phone, our information is lost too, it is dangerous...So that i really don't like to save any my private information on a cellphone, only contact numbers.
However, currently how many cell phone do you use?..^^

I've talked to others from other countries who have said they have more then one cellphone. Here in the USA the standard is one cellphone, though there are people in businesses that have a business cellphone. They don't pay for that phone though and it's usually a standard and cheap model with walkie talkie capabilities.
I have only one cellphone and that is all I need.

When i was in Korea, i used only 1 cellphone too. The phone number is registered and i also didn't need to buy a phone, it is free. I just signed a contract to use phone for 1 year and paid money for joining a phone network and monthly fee.
In my country right now, Sim-cards is bought freely and it is very cheap, one person can buy 1 to 10 or 100 one, so that people just buy a phone and can change phone number regularly if they want to use discount Sim-cards.
Bring 3 cellphones at the same time, i think, it is heavy...I won't bring...lol. Same as you, i just use 1 cellphone only.
