I need to buy a dog...

Friends... i am looking for buying a dog for my home. But i am really confused about which dog to buy. I am interested in labrador& german sheperd. can you please suggest me which one is better?. the dog should be easily trained and be loving. If there any better breed which satisfy this need?

Lab, friendly, good natured but stupid
Shepherd, loyal, protective of owner, easily trainable and intelligent

I also would suggest the lab. I have had German Shepherds and loved them, but they are very protective. We had one that was very protective of me, when a friend came in through the back not the front like the dog was used to, the dog went after him. I got him under control, but he knew that was not the way to come into our house and he did not like it. Both dogs can be trained but I think the lab would be better if you have a lot of people around you.

But i am looking for a dog also to protect my home. There had some problem of robbery around my home. So which one is better? german sheperd or lab?

What you should do is talk to a breeder or an animal shelter about the two breeds your looking at. Both are good dogs but you need to find the right dog for your personality and not all labs and germ sheperds are right for everyone. You need to make sure you have the space and time for both of these dogs. Labs are a bit more laid back then a german sheperd but both are working dogs as well. Both dogs need activities they you need to look at there age. Every dog has a different personality some will mesh well with you and others won't.
