Early this month I had an EKG, (heart test) and then got news from my Doctor's office that he wanted to see me. Well that caused 3 days of fear, Hubby is a major heart patient, so of course I was picking out my grave site by the time I saw the Doctor. Well the news was that I had evidence of an old heart attack. These are called hidden heart attacks and happen about 30% of the time. First thing I asked was how old? The Doctor couldn't say, but I knew the last EKG I had was about 3 years ago, so it must have happened since then. I also knew that my next trip would be to the heart doctor. So while I wait for that appointment I am researching the various tests and treatments I will need. Again I thank God for the Internet, so much information is available. Need a prayer or two here folks.
Just pray for the most benevolent outcome for me. Thanks

It's really sad all the people who are having heart troubles here lately. Yourself, Cynthi, and my aunt as well. Women seem to have more heart trouble then men do. I pray that they treatments won't be too terribly costly, scary or painful for you.

DOn't be scared savypat. Just keep on praying and follow what the doctor advised you to do.
In this modern times there are already a lot of medicines and treatments that could help. You just have to have money for them though. But if you lack the money, you can ask help from those foundations or charity institutions.
Don't worry, we will help you pray, my friend. Stay positive.

No this test took about 15 mins and is totally painless. It checks the electrical output of your heart. On mine it showed part of my heart with no output. I'm sure the heart doctor will have this run again just to verify it. After that the tests start to be more uncomfortable and expensive.

It was about 10 years ago, while we were camping in our 5-wheel trailer at a trailer park in Harlingen Texas. There was a shortage of blood at the time, and I helped out by donating.
Early next morning a red envelope was hand delivered to our trailer, and when I opened and read the note, I nearly fainted. It said," This is an alert! Your blood donation could not be used because it may be affected with the HIV Virus!"
Fortunately my wife, a retired R.N., was knowledgeable about blood tests, and she assured me that this was not unusual, because if there was the slightest doubt about blood quality, they would take no chances, and there was a 99% chance my blood was ok. Nothing more ever came of it, but I have not donated blood again. One close-call was enough for me!

Even scarier is the tests they are finding here that are erroneous. I've had several friends been told news like yours and when they went to another doctor, who of course doesn't accept any testing from prior doctors, reruns some of them, he gets different results. Who is correct?
I would rather know what I need to do and be given medicine I truly need to preserve my life, than to find I'd been taking something I didn't need. There seems to be problems in the medical world with mislabeling of lab results, test results, etc. Imagine what it would be like to be told you are fine, because some one other than you got your results. One lab here and one hospital are under investigation for medical test tampering.
I love that the internet provides access to so much information, but not being a trained professional can have a negative effect on the encounter with the professional who is caring for you. I remember a friend who told her doctor what she had learned, and he told her she wasn't the one healing her, he was. He had to correct half of what she thought was happening and that was not good for either her or her doctor. She was so into being her own doctor, without any medical education. Once she quit playing at being her own doctor, she started to heal.
I wish you love and blessings. I know how trying it can be to deal with medical professionals and problems we didn't know existed and just pop-up. I'll keep prayers going.

I am careful about the info I get from the Internet, I look for info from Universities and places like the heart association. One thing I did get was a chick sheet of questions to ask your Doctor. I took that with me and checked it off as my Doctor answered everyquestion. He got an A on that test without even knowing he was being graded. What it did for me is made me more trusting of his presentation.

Wow!! That would be a scary thing to find out, and until you see a Heart doctor which will probably want to run more Tests just to make sure, you will be wondering what the outcome will be. There is so much stuff they can do now a days that can help someone, but that does not always make it easier. My thoughts and prayers are with you until you know more results.

Hi savypat, I can see why you call this scary news, but hopefully it won't seem as bad after you've seen the heart doctor. I have friends who had heart attacks in their sixties and are now in their eighties and are still doing well. I admit that anything dealing with the heart sounds scary but don't go picking out that grave site until you've talked to a specialist. I will pray for the most benevolent outcome for you and hope that you won't have a long wait to see a heart doctor. Blessings.

WoW Savypat, How very scarcy foryou but to have had a heart attack in the past and not to have been even aware of it even more so I guess. Thoughts and prayers are with you Pat and hopefully you will receive appointment soon as the waiting and not knowing can make you more anxious. Healing huggles. Ellie :D

Hi pat,
don' be so worried . Now heart disease is very common. It is due to our food habit. Be careful about your food. Avoid fat and oil. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Now there is advanced treatment for heart disease. But I Hope you have minor problems and you will be okay soon by changing your life style.

Is this serious that you had already picked up a grave site? Just to make sure that I read it right.
May the Lord give you strength. He's the Healer of all.
I hope that you recover and free from any illness.

See what fear can do to us? I would have felt the same way. Believe me. But at least it is not a current condition. And I am happy you are okay. But you should go to the heart doctor and make sure everything is totally fine. And the internet is an awesome tool for things like this. I remember when I was diagnosed with diabetes years ago, I jumped right onto the internet to find information about it. And I found lots of information. It wasn't long after that search that I felt much better about it.
