I've been told one must exercise, so, OK, I started working out today...

Today I started doing the exercises that one can watch on their TV via cables' OnDemand. Exercise is really something. I mean, it SEEMS like a really miserable thing when you think about it (unless you are an avid fitness buff), but we all know it is good for you. Why then, is something that is so good for us so hard to DO on a consistent basis?? I really wonder about this, because I KNOW that I should exercise more, I KNOW that, but do I do it?? NO. People are ALWAYS talking about although they DON'T workout, they know that they NEED to. I can definitely say that I tend to fall into this category more often than not. Well, this morning I started on an exercise program. I figure I'd share that here on myLot, because sharing with people here about my liquid diet definitely has helped me to be more accountable. I'm now on Day 20 of my diet, but there were plenty of times when I wanted to quit but then I'd think to myself, "I've been writing about this on myLot, telling them I'm on a 21 day liquid diet. If I eat now, how will I ever "face" them??" So, now I'm sharing about the exercise, hopefully sharing about my new plan to workout will have the same "I-have-someone-to-be-accountable-to" effect. Hopefully when I get back INto shape, I will not allow myself to fall OUT of shape again, because getting INto shape is a LOT of hard work.

I think its good that you want to commit to something and stick with it,but I do believe in cheat days in a diet, my dad has been on this diet(not sure which one) but he diets 6 days a week and has one cheat day, and its working great for him, so I wouldnt beat yourself up for one day of actual food... my mom on the other hand started this "lose the wheat, lose the weight" diet, and you can eat anything you want, just cut out the wheat, becasue now days the wheat isnt healthy for you, to grow it faster and more of it, they put a bunch of unhealthy stuff in it, so wheat isnt all that healthy for you like it used to be..just a thought you might like to know...Im one of those that say I need to be working out...I'll start working out and I'll work out for like 2 months straight and then something will get me off my schedule and then it takes alot to get me back on :( but Im gonna start workin out the start of this new week!! :) And Good luck with yours!!

Thanks for telling me good luck with my exercise plan. Good luck with yours, too. Yes, a cheat day sounds FANTASTIC to me right about now, the only thing is that my cheat DAY may turn into a cheat WEEK, or even a cheat MONTH. I have a serious food addiction that seems to be nothing to play with. I TRY to toy with it every now and then, but to no avail, I have to be very firm with this addiction, because it tries to take OVER. I applaude your mom for cutting out wheat. I LIKE wheat, especially wheat bread, so that would be hard for me. Also, I have a hard time when I have to WORK on a diet. I would rather just drink soups and eat yogurt and stuff like that and be on a liquid diet, than have to read labels and make sure I'm avoiding wheat or whatever it may be that is to be avoided. These days there is so much unhealthy stuff in EVERYTHING, I totally believe you about the wheat. Really to be honest, I don't trust any food that "man" puts his hands on. Even though I eat a wide variety of foods, the only foods that I REALLY trust are fresh fruits and vegetables. I just want this diet done and over with:)

I made it to Day 21 of my liquid diet, and I did think about what you said about cheat days. Having given it more thought, I think that it is not such a bad idea after all, because when I was doing nothing but drinking liquids, I got really depressed, although my BODY felt 100% better. A cheat day (or 2) will allow me to diet, but not feel deprived too much, AND give me something to look forward to. Having diabetes is rough stuff, you're a trooper. I admire that. Hang on in there girlfriend.

Yeah When I said unhealthy stuff in the wheat, I mean like they put extra hormones in it to make it grow faster, which also goes into you when you eat it and causes you to actually gain weight instead of lose weight, and it also just breaks down into pure sugar...But I can understand not wanting to break your diet, its hard to get back to something you dont like after you break away from it. I hate reading lables too but I have to because I have diabetes so I have to count my carbohydrates for my insulin... But best of luck to you!! :)

one should take some exercise however busy he or she is.as one health is the most important . Without a good health one can achieve nothing. AS the internet is more and more popular many people will sit at the computer for many hours which is seriously harmful to one's health. So while people enjoy the modern civilization, they should keep an eye on their health.

You are so very right when you say that without good health one can achieve nothing. It is important to me that I get on track with exercising. I start, then STOP. Stopping is not good, my goal is to be consistent.

I missed whatever you said about your liquid diet but I don't put much faith in fad diets and that is what that sounds. Exercise on the other hand is something that I can support and is something I need to do more of. I have been walking most days of the week usually at least an hour and using a dumbbell three days a week for a long time. Recently I added modified pushups were I do a usual pushup but with my hands on the back of a sofa to make it a little easier. What I really need to do is run since I know from past experience that is what works for me. But finding the motivation, the time in my schedule and having weather I can stand which means warm enough and not too windy is hard where I live. But hopefully next week.

"Hopefully next week"...those are dangerous words my friend!! I know one thing, I have tried to implement and stick to an outdoor workout plan for the longest, for YEARS, and longest time I have done it consistently is 2 months, did not miss a day at the track. But that was in 2009 (NINE!!) That is why I started on an exercise program INdoors. I have exercise DVD's as well as the OnDemand exercises available via cable TV. Running is GREAT exercise, but one must be outside to do it (unless we have access to the Spelling Mansion, or something), and that is why I have FIXED it in my mind that I am going to work out INside my house. There are just too many variables when dealing with an out-of-doors exercise program that can throw me off, adding to the fact that I don't want to do it in the FIRST place. Finding the motivation to start, continue and not give up is the hard part. A friend and I both went on a liquid diet on April 1. She quit April 3rd. I did NOT quit and so today I am celebrating Day 21 of a completed liquid diet. It was rough. Horrible!! But worth it.

I am the one of those people who rarely do exercising. I love to do it when I am with my sisters but doing the exercise alone makes me lazy. That is my problem. Even I know the benefits of exercise I cannot do it because of one thing --I am always busy. I have no time doing it because I always feel tired to do so.Well, I hope that you will reach your target. Congratulations in advance!

first of all a liquid diet is not good for you your body needs food in order to lose weight if thats your goal, walking is the best way to work out its easy and you cant really get hurt from doing it , a person is supose to walk 10,000 steps a day a person trying to lose weight should stake 12,000-15,000 steps a day . my brother was over weight and all i had him do was walk walk and walk he still ate whatever and now he is where he is supose to be it only took him a few months . from you being on a liquid diet your body is going to store whatever it can even fat to survive

Walking is no doubt a good exercise to do, one of the best to be sure. I, however, am trying to overcome a serious FOOD addiction, I'm not just trying to lose weight, although I have lost a good bit so far. Doctors put patients on liquid diets all the time, especially before the patient gets gastric bypass or lap band surgery done.
