Hello MyLotters! Do you ever get that feeling that if you lose something your cat will always know where it is...By that I don't mean my cat has some kind of psychic powers but the fact that she sometimes seems to note everything I do.Like when I open a drawer she stares at me and it seems to me like she is almost observing and remembering my actions.I even managed to prove this to myself by watching her.I purposely repeated the exact same sequence of actions before feeding her and after a week or so she began to recognize the sequence and expect the food.Does your cat have similar habits or is it just mine?

I think cat is a smart animal, quite similar to dog in term of learning and posses observability quality in her to enhance her memory. Cat always like to stare at her owner, observe the action and can remember well which action will lead to food, my cat known that well when i open the refrigerator in the morning after woke up and she will go straight to the table top waiting for her food delivered. But if i didn't open the refrigerator door in the morning, she will continue to rub against me and making noise until i realize it is time for her breakfast, is your cat behave in this way or not, or it is just mine is doing that?

No,my cat does that too...My cats are really smart as well but definitely learn what they want...I think dogs are more obedient and cats are just more obstinate. Both are smart and learn fast but dogs learn what YOU want them to and cats learn what THEY want.My cats ,for one, have learned how to open everything- doors, the microwave, the refrigerator, etc. It's a real problem actually...Anyway,thank you for responding and don't worry ,you're not alone,haha...

Every animal has rituals and habits, and humans do as well! Of course your cat, and or dog, or bird, will figure out your habits sooner than later and recognize the patters...especially when it comes to feeding time. It helps them to pass the time through the day, and this way they can 'learn' when to expect something, and when not to. Sometimes it freaks me out when my dog stares at me for a long time, but then I just figure she is just wanting attention, or watching my moves again to see if there is any play time or food in her future.

My cats always know where my lost stuff, then again, they are usually the ones who took it to begin with.
