It is hard for my plan to save money, when the petrol increase cost will drag on many good increase cost too. And in your country, does the price of petrol increase?

I think it's happening in most countries who is dependent on imported petroleum. Like your country our's imports petroleum from other countries too. I think a factor that causes this increases is the scarcity of supplies or there's huge supply but the demands are more.

I don't know if OPEC countries limits their production at present, but they did it before because during the war in Iraq. If not, maybe there is more demand than the supply of fuel so the tendency of the price is to go up.

If petrol price increases but does not influence other prices, it will not be a problem. Many critises the increase because it trigger other goods to rise as well.

Petrol is much used for many purposes like transports. All goods are carried using fuel-run transportation. So, if the price is raised, others would have to be as well.

I don't drive but people tell me it has gone up. This is why I'm glad I use mass transit instead of driving and using petrol that is hard to afford, but I will feel the increase in the price increase of food cost another items I need to buy.

Govt. run behind only petrol and Cooking Gas because they know even the price will hike more but the common person cant live without both. They are feeling their own house with money of mass.

It's the same here and I think it's everywhere. About 1.5 week ago I heard that more and more people go by bike now (also in Austria) this way you can save yourself about 5000 euro a year. A lot of money although the saving only for those who are not already use a bike :-(
I don't believe the petrol price is that high, the biggest part is tax. Fact is we (in the Netherlands) pay way more for it as the Germans and in Austria it's even cheaper, same in Luxembourgh. If the petrol price is not high our government will find something else to charge us extra to get more money.
So a car driving on water will never be a succes.
They also rise the price of petrol because of this never ending interfering in other countries and the fear we will be, sooner or later, without petrol. A fear that was there 50 years ago also.
