I started out working online about 6 years ago. But after months of searching for the right online job, and running into tons of scams I gave up. I returned to the "work from home" search a few years ago, determined to make a decent income. And finally I have found the right online jobs for me, that are legit and do bring in a good monthly income. But working from home, online is hard work! I've heard online work described many times as simple, fast and easy..Yeah right! So,Do You Work online
But Sometimes Feel Like Giving Up? Have you tried but have not gotten anywhere with online work? Are you determined to find the right online job? Are you making a good income online? If so how? I'm very curious as to what others are doing to make money online, and how its going for me :)

I don't really have an online job but I earn money online by working on sites. I guess I can also related to your feeling like giving up considering the small pay you earn for your efforts compared to how you work offline through a real job...but after looking at my financial plan online for 5 years, I tend to return to what I'm doing. I always end up telling myself, if I want to see those numbers 5 years from now, I will continue doing what I'm doing and reach that goal.
Right now, I am earning pennies and still pennies in the next month until I reach until December, maybe...from there, I need to work smartly, bid my time, invest and build my foundation from there. I hope I am successful. Have a nice day and Happy MyLotting!

I think of my work online as a job, because it takes up so much of my time. And because at times its hard work. It is extremely difficult to go from pennies online to real dollar amounts. For a lot of the programs the only way to get a good amount of money is to have a lot of referrals, which are very hard to obtain, as I'm sure you already know.
You sound determined though to build up your online work! I've noticed that the people who stick with the online job thing and really work at it for a long period of time, do become successful at it. I'm hoping to be one of those, I just get very discouraged and tired with it sometimes. But like you I'm determined and hoping for success. :)

I tried looking at your blog from the link on your mylot profile and this is the message I got instead Another Error 404 File is Missing in Action.
Some ways I've tried to get referrals are, I started a facebook page and searched around facebook looking for people who seemed interested in finding work online, then I sent them a friend request. I posted links on forums, and I added my links to my mylot profile. What are the ways that you have gone about trying to get referrals?

I wish you the best too.
I also treat whatever it is I'm doing online as a job since I am earning something from them. And also I have come to the same conclusion as you that in order to earn good money online, one needs lots of referrals. Persevere now and succeed later.
Right now, I am trying my best to gain myself referrals with my blog. I still hope that I can attract more. How about you? What are the actions you've undertaken to gain yourself people under you?

However, I have a son going to college so I cannot give it up yet.
Time may tell
What do you do for your living online anyway?
I do writing but the project is not steady.
At times, their are more and other times less.

I mostly complete tasks for other people. Like they will post a task asking you to comment on there blog or sign up for an offer, and then you get paid after you complete the task. You can check my profile out if you would like, I have my jobs listed there. And info about each job. Where do you do your writing jobs?

I do my writing at academia research.
Most of the writings involve doing the assignment of students.
However, I get pissed off at times because people managing the site applies fines whenever they wish.
I mean, they can tweak their own guidelines just to slapp you with those fines.
I do not know if this applies to me alone.
I am looking for sites accepting international members to do some tasks.
Anyway, I will check your profile page later.

I've never heard of that site. Thanks! I will check it out, although the fines thing sounds awful. I'm sure its not just you though, I've noticed when others are paying you to write something for them they expect perfection. And I myself am horrible when it comes to punctuation and grammar, which lol obviously is why I haven't yet written many articles for others, mostly just blog comments. Thanks again for the info! :)

If you work online and you earn too little for your work, then it's really demotivating.
But if you got the opposite, let's say you work a little online and you earn big, just like with online sales where income is big based on percentage commission, like when you are able to sell something that's worth $100 and you earn $40 commission for the sale, then it's very motivating and encouraging.
So, it depends upon what kind of work you are working online.

That's true,
So is that the kind of work you are doing online, selling stuff for commission? If so it sounds like you making a good online income.

I have given up a few times and resumed work. I learned that the best way is to develop a passive income that you can build over time. I am slowly doing this by writing for revenue share sites like squidoo, wizzley and inforbarrel. Its hard work but over time they passive income starts to pile up. Most of what I earn is reinvested in dividend paying invetments to make things go faster and diversify. Like they say don't put your eggs in one basket. I am researching bots to automate foreign exchange currency trading to add another layer of passive income. What is important is to develop those passive income sources.

I agree! :)
I really need a lot of practice when it comes to writing articles. I've noticed that it is a very good way to earn money online. I'm hoping by using mylot I'll improve my writing skills.
You know you could sign up for some short task sites and make a lot more money, since you already write, a lot of the tasks I've come across are asking for some one to write articles..and the pay is pretty good. If I had the skills that you have that's what I'd be doing.

Most article writing sites just want good information. It doesn't have to be award winning content. Give it a try! My first language is not even English and I am doing ok. Try building a blog on blogger.com and start writing about stuff that you like. That is how I started and eventually got used to writing.
Writing online is more like talking than any other type of writing which makes it easier. It is like posting a long comment here on myLot. Ezinearticles.com has a good newsletter that they send to members for free. Membership is also free which is even better.

It's been 2 years that I am working online and as you said. I feel like giving up but if I think about how to manage my life. I need to continue on it because I have no place to work offline and not found any jobs that fit me...
Even if I want to stop working online. I can't do it because I need to earn money to make a living. Now, my inspiration to continue making money online or having an online jobs is my dream to save money and have my own business someday...

I think they would say it is easy since they will just stay at the comfort of their own home and they enjoyed much on doing things with the computer. It wouldn't be that hard if you love doing it. But earning money on that type of job would not that easy. I have been doing so for the past five years and I would say I am not earning that much. Good thing I have my work in the government. My online job now is already a past time thing.

That's true I agree.
Working from home is much more comfortable than working outside the home, plus you get to set your own hours.
As long as you are enjoying it than its all worth it! :)

Yes, I tried getting into this whole online gig last year, while I have my full time job. I was hoping I could get a sustaining job or business before I leave my current job. But, it didn't work out with my schedule. I could only spend 2-3 hours a day and its not enough to make much. I gave up and just focused on my job.
I just went back to doing online stuff last month, because Im no longer working. Im enjoying it so far, especially here in myLot. It doesn't only give me extra earnings but also takes away boredom from being bum.
I hope to start up a bigger business, soon, too.

I have been at this since '97 but haven't tired once. I love it, there are endless ways to make money and I have yet to discover them all or master them. But there is one thing that I do know just about all money flow threw the internet and its there for the taking if you know what you're doing.
I make money in various ways from making my own products (actually paying someone else to do it) to buying domains and creating awful blog sites that remarkable do well. But love to promote affiliate links for some reason that just makes me happy to make a sell on thee impossible. I have I think 33,960 links promoted out there on the net and I have no idea where 3/4 of them are at. I love to see the jet rental I promoted on some free blog come through every so often which is a $500 commission its only 2 or 3 times a year but it makes me laugh every time.
I might have more links out there, I'm sure of it but these are the ones that I have been paid for over the last few years that come through still. Another thing that excites me that I'm the worse writer in the history of man but I get sale after sale and that shows anyone can do it if they are willing to work at it.
If you have read this far then I will give you a nugget. I'm finding promoting pay per call numbers have been a steady income source I think I shut Allstate down from promoting their phone numbers. That was good money $14 per call I stuck those numbers everywhere that a potential client was. But yeah, you can post pay per call in comments on blogs in article directories and they stick. People feel safe with them and they call like crazy. Good luck to you.
