How can you tell if a person is pretending?

Well I don't know maybe I'm just too judgmental. I'm sorry for being so bad but It just seems so hard to believe a person telling she/he is in pain while he/she can take a time to do something, etc... Hmmm maybe she/he is really in pain but not that severe? Have you doubt someone too?

Maybe just make an excuse to do something else that he dont want others know. I had ever been like this. I told my boss I am not feeling good so I asked for a leave. Actually I went for interview.Dont take it seriously if no trouble caused to you.

I think all of us sometimes do this. I also told my teacher coach that my uniform has so much stains that's why I was absent. The truth is I was so lazy to go to work that day. If it becomes habitual, it will really cause greater problems. In my case, I am more disciplined now. I am also punctual, not like before.

There are maybe reason why people prefer to pretend. They have their reason for doing so- as long as they are not lying all the time. Pretending sometime for good reason is valid- but telling a lie all the time is not good anymore.

Well I think that some people exaggerate their pain a lot of the time but not necessary. There have been times where I have been in pain but I have pushed myself to do something. It took every bit of my resolve to do so, but it could be done. Of course, it is not something that I would recommend as the most healthy and smartest thing to do. It is hard to say, as there are people who overplay their pain and there are people who downplay their pain as well. Some people are rather good actors out there. I think that you never truly know with people because you can't really experience their pain sensors. It could be a case of them overplaying their pain or it could be a case of them having a pain, but still pushing themselves to do anything despite all logic.

If it comes to pain I don't have doubts. Women have about 10.000 nerves more as men so they do feel more pain. There are periods you are more aware of it and periods you are less aware of it. There are times doing things make you feel less (the pain might be the same) there are times you feel less so you feel mentally better and think you can climb mountains. So you do more and with that you break down again since you do too much. The fact you are in (daily) pain doesn't mean you have to stop living or you are able to stop living. No matter if you have a family or you are alone. Fact is nobody will take care of you and pamper you day and night. Also an other fact is nobody cares if you are in pain (daily). People get used to the fact you are in pain and ignore it. Only if you are really dying or men complain about a little pain it's interesting for the moment. This all besides of the fact that how people (their brains, nerves, etc) experience pain is different. You can't compare it with other kinds of pain or other people.

I've known some people who have this ability that they can divert their attention to so many things and can multitask as much as possible when they get depressed. Maybe that person is just doing those things as a way of diverting her emotions to some other things so as not to get herself depressed. Although sometimes, there are also people who get emotional way a lot more and would exaggerate situations. There's also a possibility that this person you're talking about is trying to exaggerate the situation/s he/she is into. Since I really don't know the person, these maybe the reasons of his/her actions. I guess you just need to clear things out so you'll not misunderstand the person.

There are people who are great pretenders. I had the same experience. I was really dying that time. Yes. That's what I feel, but because I needed to submit my medical certificate so that I can take a rest for three days, I went to our office. My officemate told me that no doctor will give me a medical certificate because I can still manage to go to our office. I told him I felt I was in hell for I really had a very high fever. He said I didn't look like one. I added that I felt I was dying, but he wasn't convinced. Well, he's not the doctor.
