shake water before drinking... why?

i learned about shaking water before drinking is good. why? because through shaking, the molecules of water break and can be easily absorb by the cells of our body. in this way, the cell can retain or hold the water longer. in this way, we avoid frequent goings to comfort room to pee. i also try it myself and i proved it right. i can drink 1-2 glass of water evry hour without urinating often. i experience before that just about 5-10 minutes after driking water i feel that my gall bladder is already full that is the sign that the liquid is not being absorbed by the cell of my body. just shake the water 20 times depending on the volume.

Dear Shylade! I am Vet practicing for Race horses and my age is 50+ ! This I am writing here just to let you know that I am having a background of science and I am a matured enough to discuss with you about this matter seriously! In fact simply by agitating or shaking a bottle of water we can never separate the molecules of water. There is a strong force which makes these molecules to bind together and that is why we get the water in liquid form. Even when we are boiling the water we are not in a position ti separate the water molecules, still they remain as water molecules only in the gaseous form! This in my opinion you have been misinformed by some one who doesn't have sound knowledge about the molecules and the binding force which keep these molecules intact! Now coming to the other part of your discussion , It is not the gall bladder which gets filled up with pee after we drink water but it is the Urinary bladder! Gall bladder has got a very vital role to play in digestion as it stores bile secreted out by liver! So kindly do some research work before blindly believing others and forming a firm opinion about anything! Some times things may be dangerous too! My idea is not to offend your feelings, but just to let you know the facts! Thanks for the thought provoking discussion ! I liked participating in it! God bless!

hi there! thanks for correcting me. it should be an ashame that i am a chemist i don't know about it but i accept my mistake there. i mean the minerals in the water not the molecules. and you are right by the urinary bladder, i don't know why i mentioned gall bladder instead. anyways, i appreciate it much. it is just an experience i want to share and it should never be meant to harm anyone. it is up to you if you will research on it or not, or try it.

Where did you get this information? I didn't know about this. Maybe I should try this today. Thank you for sharing this.

i got it from a natural medicine doctor. this what she usually advice when you want to take water therapy. i know people avoid drinking lots of water especially when you are busy at work because of the frequent urination. so i think this will solve the problem.

These could be helpful. For example if you are on a long car trip :p .I will try this next time I drink water. To you know if it works on other drinks too?like juice?

I can verify the source of this information as we were studying the topic in biology today.

While it does no harm to shake water, the 'scientific' explanation for doing so which you have been given is complete poppycock! What happens when you shake water is that it aerates it and small bubbles of air become suspended for a time in the water. Flowing water from, for example, a mountain stream is aerated like this naturally and, as a result, tends to taste better than water which has been left standing (thus allowing the suspended air to disperse). Water molecules are composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom and they cannot be 'broken' by shaking.

(By the way, the gall bladder is a small organ just below the liver which concentrates bile and aids in the digestion of fats. It has nothing to do with urination. You mean the bladder!)

yes i stand corrected, it should be the minerals and the urinary bladder. sorry for that i am just sharing an experience and i mean not no harm anyone. it is up to you to try it. thanks for the correction.

That's really informative, this is the first time I've heard about the importance of shaking. I think most of us while drinking water we prefer it not to be disturbed, what I mean is once we poured water to a glass we wait for the bubbles to settle first before we drink it. So we need to break the molecules in the water so that it can easily be absorb and retain by our cells longer. I think I will try it, thanks for initiating this topic.

It does no harm to shake water before drinking it because it tends to aerate it and make it taste better. The 'scientific' explanation that it 'breaks the molecules' is complete rubbish, however.

i stand corrected here. i am referring to the minerals in water that needs to break apart and be homogeneous. i am just making it clear that this will not cause harm to anyone. i am just sharing an experience and it is up to you if you will try it.

hi there can you give me a link of where you have read this? i just know that it is a standard precaution that we should be able to pee not less that 30cc per hour and so if we can drink that much water, we should also be able to pass out just about the same amount. maybe i should try that too

i am not sure if there's a research on that already. i acquire that information from a natural medicine doctor over the radio. she is a real doctor. i will just correct some, i mean it is not the molecule that breaks, its the minerals that water that became homogeneous when you shake them and it is not the gall bladder but the urinary bladder. i really don't know why i typed in gall instead of urinary. it is just prove that i am a human, haha. it is up to you to try.

Hi, I've never heard that before, that shaking water is good. Well, it's a new information to me, and it does sound logic. Thank you for sharing this and I will surely try to shake my water before drinking and see the result myself, about 20 times each, got it .

Really? Is this really true? If so, then I wanna try it. I usually shake only juices or sodas or other liquids except water and only if it's in the bottle.

Thank you for sharing this information.er Well I do not really shake my bottled water before I drink it but I think this does makes sense. I think I will do this from now on to get the most out of my drink. Thank you and have a great day!
