Mumbai Indians strike bowler- malinga returned to srilanka due to his back pain. He will not be available for rest of the matches in this season's IPL. This will be a big blow for Mumbai Indians as already sachin is not playing last few matches because of injury. But sachin may play from the next match for MI but now they lost there strike bowler. Malinga has been the best bowler for MI even this season, claiming nine wickets in 15.5 overs at an economy rate of 4.54.

there are actually a few versions running around.malinga believes he will be available for the match against daredevils on the 27th.
the srilankan board says he will be available only after 2 weeks.
well back spasm is not like hgamstring though.expect malinga to miss 2 - 3 games but he will be back.

At first i heard the news that he will miss rest of the matches. But it will be good for MI if he can play after 2-3 matches.

Well that is a great loss for MI, but I think this time MI making it to finals is not quiet possible by seeing there performance so far. But lets see if they can come back ...

Yes. Chennai won that match but i dont think that that was convincing win for them. Chennai were in good position but from there they came to a point were they fear of loosing the match. Chennai also has to do lots of hard work to enter the finals.

well its a very bad thing happen not for only Mumbai Indian but also the cricketer lover miss his action in this tournament..
He is a great bowler and when his day he had single handily win the match for his team..
well after sachin its the double blow for MI which makes very difficulties to stay in this IPL-5.

The headlines will read "Malinga goes back, because of problems in the back, Don't know when he will be back!!" :)
But, what I heard in the commentary today is that they expect him to come back towards the later stages of IPL. As Malinga does not play in test matches he is probably the most rested of Sri Lankan players, but as a bowler he has a heavy work load.
Cheers!

Mumbai Indians will definitely miss Malinga! His statistics show it all - Brilliant really! Again, Tendulkar also missing. Hopefully, nobody else will get injured.
MI however have never really relied on individual performances, so they should get along well!
