If you are planning your vacation, where do you get your tour packages? Is it from the internet or your personal travel consultant? Nowadays, there are many websites offering low tour packages to almost anywhere in the world. Do you feel comfortable getting them even though you aren't able to speak someone to guide you thru the package? Or do you still prefer the old fashion way of talking with a travel agent/consultant to discuss your vacation plans? What are the reasons you choose that option?

My friends and I usually do not take tour packages. We think that backpacking on your own is more fun (more adventurous and you call the shots when it comes to the time) and less expensive. I think we'd take a tour package only in places where English is not really spoken.

My kind of group! Even though I work in a travel agency, I also prefer to do it myself and go backpacking. I only avail those tour packages when I am with my aunts and older people. So it there would be someone else who will assist me in case of emergencies.

I would not to choose buying a tour packages. For the reason that i would love to design my own routine by myself and i feel it much more comfortable with that. There are many restrictions and even some tour guide are pushing you to buy things.Anyway, this is not really a good way to experience local.

I usually compare flights on the Internet and then book one using my laptop. I get the travel guide books to read so I can find out where I can stay. I then can visit a region or several different countries on the one trip.
Most travel agents have a last minute vacation board on the window of their travel agent. If I am soon to depart there are some very cheap offerings. Though they offer it for two people staying in a twin or double room. I travel with my disabled son and my daughter. So we need a triple room. The travel agent would charge me a high single supplement because I am not two adults.
I prefer being an independent traveler and not a package tourist.

I myself used to prefer to talk to a consultant but after getting to knwo internet so much that you dot need them anymore. Like I wanted to know abou a safari and figured out i like couple minutes about how much it costs besides you can always call them everyone has the contact number ;). Plus goig online you have more multimedia of the place or your hotel and stuff to look at. You always get that one offer doingit online as that reduced their man work!

I started out looking up vacations on the net, getting the details, comparing prices and deciding where I wanted to go and then booking it through a travel agent. Something about talking to a real person comforts me. My last vacation though, I booked totally by myself, on the internet. I must admit I was a bit skeptical, afraid that mistakes would be made, information would get lost etc etc but everything worked out great! We had a wonderful vacation, saw everything we wanted to see, our pre-booked hotels were a very convenient way to travel.

Ill go with old style like you have to talk with agent because some people dont know how to use internet and some dont understand how to go on. So i think old style is better then the new 1
