I have a friend who has four cats she loves so dearly. She had rescued them as kittens from everywhere. Now they have grown into pretty adult cats who show how cared they are. In fact, they stay inside the house and they had never gone anywhere outside of the house. They have everything they need in the house. However, one day she found one of the cats missing. She must have gotten out through a half-open window. She asked for the help of neighbors to search for her but to no avail. They had tried everything. Now this cat has no survival skills as it is a house cat. My question is, do you think the cat is still alive? It's been four days of searching. The owner thinks she might be hiding somewhere because this cat is really scared of people and strangers. What advise can you share please?

i think the cat can survive out there in the house even though the treatment is so good out there and he's not necessarily get the best food in the house..........
when the cat was able to feed themselves and he will probably adapt to the environment now.

A cat is never lost, being lost is human! The cat is doing just fine where-ever it is. But the cat's owner ( No one owns a cat!) has lost the cat! Give the cat some time, and if the cat misses its owner, it will come home! Cats have been known to cross a continent to come back to their place of birth!

I don't know where your friend lives and how things are arranged in your country. We call the police, tell the vets, animal care etc so they know we lost our animal.
Difference between cats and dogs: cats look for their own owner..so if you don't care or they find someone better (or who is feeding them too) they will stay away/leave. Cats also leave if they feel sick or know they will die. Dogs will stay since they are used to live in a group.

Dear,
First stay calm.Ask some of your good neighbors to help you.Cats like dark quiet places so can you think of any places that have that?If you've searched.Next,if nessacary contact everyone you know in your area though email about the cat.Even put up posters around town.If you still can't find it then contact the local Tv or police station.Try to keep a poetics attitude that it is still alive. At the same time try to brace yourself for the worst.Hope I helped and good luck on finding your cat.

Is the cat a male or a female, most female are looking for a partner and even male too. Maybe he/she found her love interest and they are together. Don't worry to much cats and dogs have instinct and know there way home, s/he still a cat even s/he is a house cat they can survive outside. Unless someone pick them up and put it on a cage so no way to get out.

well I don't think you should worry about it so much. Cats have a natural instinct to hunt and they are usually good at it since they are small kittens . When it gets really hungry it will approach other humans to seek food. It is used to be with humans even if it is afraid of strangers it will approach other humans. I don't know of the location your friend live in, but if it is a city it have a greater chance to survive because of the garbage it can eat from and it might be able to return again to its owner after awhile.
