...who think money is so easy to get and always spend it...they have no concept of saving at all. Even though I am not earning money at least I know how to save it and I resit the urge to buy unnecessary things all the time. I hope she learns to use money wisely and stop being so...thoughtless or whatever the word for spending it so fast and asking from us if she doesn't have any..

money could do a lot. It should be kept for bad time of the life, we should stop spending it thoughtlessly.

Every one their income by doing the jobs. Each of the money which we earn has it's own value because they are the results of our hard work and it is very important to conserve or collect them.

Those people probably never had to work very hard for a little money, otherwise they would know the value of it. What bothers me is when people enjoy telling what luxury items they bought to those who can hardly afford to put proper food on their or their family's table.

They need to learn how to use money wisely because it's not forever that they have plenty of money to spend. Some spend lavishly because they can but for me it's still not wise because you will never know what is going to happen in the future that is why it is still important to save some money incase you are going to really need it.

Some people spend money lavishly but don't think a step ahead and save. I hate it when someone that has used up all their cash goes asking me for money when I was the same person advising them to save and told them "don't say I didn't warn you".

we all earn money, we all have to spend it at one point- as to how that depends on us. i'd say i do not try to take notice of what people do with their money so long as they do not really affect me. for example if i have a room mate who is vain and so on and spends all her money on things and asks me to pay for bills and food that she gets to eat... well... i think that way i should let her know and understand what she has to do..

I really don't see how it's any of your business how anyone spends their money...who made you the money police or the spending police??
I save money every week and I spend money when I need to and when I want to. If anyone were to tell me when and how I could or should spend my money I would be just a lil bit angry . No one has that right.

There are also the economic factors Suebee. When we spend our money it helps the economy; it pays wages, taxes and keeps business going. It's vital that we spend in order to keep the economy of our country strong.
As for your comment lady, I'm sorry you feel that you hate your sister, especially for such a ridiculously pathetic reason. That cannot be healthy for you. Perhaps a change of attitude would help...although it seems to me you could be just a lil bit envious perhaps.

Well, since i know someone who is like that and it affects me greatly.. My sister.. I don't know why she grew up like that- maybe because our aunt spoiled her...she just doesn't help us and just ask for money, and i am still going to an expensive school.

I'm with you on this one MsTickle. What I do with my money is my business. In fact, if the truth be known, it's good to spend money. There is a cycle for money...it comes in, it goes out so that more money can come in. If you don't spend it, if you hoard it there is no room for more to come in. Also, what is money for if not to be spent for your comfort and enjoyment? It is useless if it sits under your mattress not doing anything, not to mention the value of the dollar goes down every day. So, it is sitting there, not giving you any joy or comfort and at the same time decreasing in value. What sense does that make?
Just as it is nobody's business how I spend my money, it is none of my business how anybody else spends their money. Just because you sister spends her money lady, it doesn't mean that you have to give her any. She can ask but you have the option of saying yes or NO. Maybe she thinks that YOU shouldn't be spending YOUR money on an expensive school, but is that any of her business?

my mother in law has that same problem and she is homeless! she even admitted to me that she hasn't had money in so long that if she got money now, she would probably go crazy. spending money when you can't afford it is the key to staying poor.

Then you must hate a lot of people over here :-( I find it remarkable too how many people so easily spend money.. or say it's time to safe and just stop buying clothes every week. I passed this station a long time ago.
Not only because I don't have that money plus other priorities how to spend it but also because I saw enough of the world to see how much we buy and how less we appreciate it sooner or later. Look at all those garbish we produce, look in- and outside the houses. So much we never use or seldom use or we don't need, we throw next to our houses, into our sheds, garages, ceilings...
I do feel annoyed when people keep telling me what a great luxury very expensive stuff they bought. I wonder if they never think 1 single moment that what they spent on their brand new hifi-dvd-whatever-player is nearly one year income for me and my family. But most of all I wonder how come many of those people are still complaining, are still not satisfied or happy with the fact they can just buy what they see.

Well, i only hate those people that affect me- or are related to me.. I always tell them to think twice before buying anything, but no one ever listens. I quite nevy those people who have money to buy anything-- but I am glad that we are not rich too since I can discipline myself and not buy useless stuff.

I have the same sentiments too about my brother. When he earns money, he keeps it to himself and buy clothes, shoes, DVDs, and other stuff that only him could enjoy. But, he still ends up asking for money from us when he runs out. I don't really mind if he doesn't give his share in family expenses, but at least he should keep enough money so he won't have to ask more from us. I think that's just being selfish and immature. I don't know when he'll ever grow up, and he's turning 29 this year.

We have the same sentiments. I hate it when they spend their money without thinking of the effort of those who worked hard of earning it. If they earned their money with their own effort, it would be fine. But if not, it's another story.

I don't hate them, I just don't understand them... well, I only hate them, if they are endangering some other people's lives. I was working in a mall, and I had a colleague, who had her hair done in the mall (the price was ridiculous), always had heir nails done, but she had to borrow money from friends for food, and when her son (she was 32 and the son was about 12???) visited her, she couldn't buy him a hamburger or anything when he was hungry...

I am reading a lot in the news these days, that many people when they get to retirement age are going to be in financial trouble. Some will still have debts and other commitments they will have to meet. I grew up with my patents teaching me the wisdom of saving. Even if I was earning little money and finding it hard, I should still find a way of putting some of that away. I followed this philosophy and always took great care to to create debt. If I couldn't afford to have something then, I would wait until I had saved enough money to get it. I was happy doing that, and whilst when I was younger I used to feel "different" because most people I knew seemed to have anything they wanted, I now feel quite happy with what I have in life. It isn't a great fortune, but I feel that riches are not really happiness, they can help but providing I am living in my means, then I can be very happy. What I have never had, I will never miss. _Derek

That's a tough spot forsure when you have to help someone out who is not responsible with their own finances. I hope that you guys will discontinue giving money to her so that you can use your own money for things you need rather than someone who is eager to spend spend spend on things that aren't necessary.
I have one daughter who is a saver and the other spends as fast as it's in her hand.

Hi, It is sad that people often spend money unnecessarily most of the time. When questioned they always justify their act. It pains me to see people spending money lavishly for themselves etc., etc.,on one side, and those who are unable to meet their daily expenses, even. So, this is what the world is.

I know how it feels to not have much money. I am in that situation right now. Randy is unable to work and we are trying to get him Disability. We should be hearing something next month and am keeping our fingers crossed. I get money from financial aid in school (I save most of that) and Randy gets a Veterans Check and finanical aid money as well so it does help a little. I do save money when I can. I am hoping once his disability kicks in I can start building our savings account again. I pay for the necessities and am hoping I can pay off some old debts so I can eventually buy a home. I will work once I get out of college and know that Randy gets his disability.

I do not make much money (just what I make on here and a couple of other sites),but what I am make I do save for a while. I made some money and saved it for a while then I splurged and bought a couple of tickets to see Merle Hager (a country artist). I am also going through my storage bin and seeing what I can sell to make extra money. Money has been tight ever since Randy got hurt and cannot work and I am not working so I can take care of him full-time. Randy and I are attending an online university (I'm working towards a Master's and Randy is working towards his Bachelor's) and most of that money we get from financial aid had gone towards a used car that we absolutely needed. I am trying to save.
