Hi, everyone!
Tomorrow I have a birthday and I wanted it to be special, to be celebrated in some memorable way, but... I'm short of money :( I was wondering if there is any cool way to spend birthday not depending on money. Do you have any ideas how to celebrate birthday with little money so that I feel the joy of the celebration? I'm waiting for your ideas. Thank you!

I love watching movies with pop corn and snacks. if you can get someone to bring the popcorn you can use your tv or thiers.

I do this pretty often. I think my birthday should be different than any other day, because how I'd remember my birthday - as just another day in my life that I've watched movie with pop corn & snack?! Thank you for your advice anyway!

Birthday celebration need not be expensive.
Here in our country, we just cook or order "pancit" ( special stir fried noodles ). The long noodles stands for long life. Then, the whole family or friends partake of it and even sing happy birthday before that.
After which , a sing a long follows. It's enjoyable that way too.

So you see, it pays to be honest with our friends, specially on financial aspect. At least, they gave you cash.
I am glad it turned out an enjoyable one, trohicko.

You need everyone to have lunch or dinner at their own homes then since you are short on money. You can do some fun activities you all enjoy. Maybe travel somewhere, go to the park, go window shopping, play sports, stay home and have a movie marathon, let your closest friends sleep over at your house then cook something together. I think those are fun activities.

I live in a big city and since tomorrow is a working day and places I could have picnic are too far away I wouldn't have transport and time to go outside the city and prepare the picnic. In addition it is raining almost every day recently. Thank you anyway!

Take a picnic lunch to the park or beach or whatever is close to you. Are there other people with you? maybe just do the picnic in the back yard and everyone bring something for you instead of gifts. Money is tight for all..but you can still do things. Just adjust the usual! It sounds bad, but I have lived like that and you do get not only used to it, but figure out things to do that make it a great time and no expense and then you wonder why you ever did anything else!
Rent a movie and pass the pop corn around. Do something "cheap" like hotdogs and chips.
no more details than you have given, hard to think more specific, but if you are alone, take yourself to the early bird special dinner. Go somewhere and order just and appitizer and water with lemon. But I would have to say my best idea is the park/ocean...anywhere there are lot of people around. I talk to strangers often and it is enjoyable. Pick them cautiously but still..just be around people is fun.
Happy Birthday whatever you do!

I think that the one thing that you have to remember is that your birthday is not about spending money or about getting presents, but it is about spending time with the people who you love. If you have a lot of friends then maybe you could have a party at your house and ask each one of them to bring an item of food or drink with them so that you don't have to spend a lot of money on refreshments yourself, but by asking everyone to pull together you are going to have more than enough things to be able to have a fantastic party for yourselves.

It's just like you've predicted what will happen - friends helped with cash and I bought the necessary products so we made the party :) Thank you!

Our birthdays is just like any other days in the calendar that will come to pass, but since it is not just an ordinary day for us, we can celebrate it in simple way but memorable one. No need to spend so much amount of money just to make it an unforgettable one. We can spend it with our loved ones at home, cook the favorite food you want and share it with them on that special occassion, or just stroll in the park with your special someone (if you have one), watch your favorite movie, etc. I mean, with those simple things we can already make your birthday memorable.

You could always just order a pizza and watch some movies with your friends and/or family. I hope you have a happy birthday! ?

Thank you for advice but I'd rather chat with others than all keeping in silence watching movies. Perhaps making a birthday movie would fit me and watching it afterwards :P

Go for dinner to your favorite restaurant take a friend along. You can also have a special meal at home with a few friends, buy the eats, do a barbeque, watch a movie and enjoy the evening with your best friends. You will spend less when you celebrate your birthday at home. Make sure that you have stocked up enough snacks, drinks and have a blast!
