Are you serious? we can have fun on mylot?

hi rittersport I rember the last days whenI was working and trying to fit mylotting in and would stay up too late cause I had to be at the library a few minute to nine to turn off the alarm and empty the inside book drop.so when I retired completely I had a lot of time so I mylotted a lot. I learned to not count posts just relax and enjoy making friendships and putting more quality into my posts And suddenly I was amazed at how much I was reallyt making just for 'having fun and being friendly.

hi Rittersport yep had a lovely weekend. this thursday morning its overcast and chilly instead of warm weather we are getting chilly days and its already May here in sunny? southern Californiawe had a warmer winter than usu al and now its spring and should be warm ing up and its windy and c hilly.

hi gemma that's it whenI first started I was counting posts and so gungho and all I was making was a few cents and a real headache not fun. so I decided to do fewer posts and make them quality and I was really having fun talking to others and making great friendships and all at once I was really earning well. getting paid for having fun and no more headaches.

I think it is good to have fun in myLot and it is also good to paid for earnings.

hi carm I was down in the dumps this morning after getting my earnings then a little later I realized that was a day back' and when I make discussions and c omment back my earning s really show the difference too. all because I was having fun and not being uptight and counting how many of this or that I had done. then too myh son came to see me last night and he too has that rich sense of humpr my husband had.So my last earnings report made me laugh and smile both.wow.

Uh oh, so does this mean if it isn't in the guidelines, we are not allowed to have fun??? Oh well, I will continue to have fun, I need to distractions I got going on in my life..

yes me too velvet as it helps us all to know each other better as we banter bac k and forth but try to keep to the topic as much as possible too. laughter the doctors tell us is really good for our health as long as its good laughter,not that of people who laugh when someone fall done. thats not to me good laughter as a fall is often very serious for the person who fell.

hi ollenz yes we have to make sure everyone knows what page we are on and whether we are teasing or really serious. also we must remember we come from all over the world so what is funny to one might need some explaining to another person. I read one discussion in which a lot of filipino terms were u sed without translation and some were laughing while I was lost as I could not translate the words. I asked for some explaining, got it and laughed too then as I understood the humor.

That one did show up in my e mail and I figured it was the one. Put a little in myself. I find it great that with nuf we get diap, that is better than with six we get egg rolls.

hi GardenGerty it w as the Lambs discussion on how we earn zero cents for each thing we do and he goes on t oe explain how we do earn while having fun writing it. a lot of us came on and were sort of silly but kept to the point of the discussion and it gathered momentum as more of us came back to add our two cents worth.

higardnegerty oh my gosh with six we get egg rolls ,where did that come from, I am having a second senior mom. earlier I was talking about Irish dance teams and could not remember the name of one I had seen on public television that was really amazing. then I tuned in to youtube and there it was RiverDance. I really enjoyed seeing htem and they are just fantastic,amazing.

Some stuff just does not translate well on the internet. I also sometimes see posts that make me wonder how someone could think whatever it is they have said. I know that some of the stuff that goes on in my home would not work well on the lot.

hi bunnybon and GardenGerty I know what you both are saying and I agree as humor can be good or it can be very hurtful so I always study what I am going to say to be sure it can not be misinterpreted as I did recently come a cropper. but I am now even more careful and i was merely talking about the lambs discussion about mylot earnings and the ratings done in a serious but joking manner. He was careful of course and I do not think there was anything wrong in it or in us kibbitzing and joking with one other. I just enjoyed myself and spun this discussion off of that.sometimes there is very little humor and thats okay if the discussion is interesting to me. bunny you are so right we have little fun for us older people. In fact the past years starting from the last months of 2008 had no humor in them for me and having to come to a retirement center because I was then homeless was not funny nor happy and still is not funny nor all that happy but I do make myself happy each day and mylotting has helped me a lot.But some humor surely is not a bad thing as I am cognizant that serous discussions that enlighten us or ask us for help are great. but surely there is room for a smile or laugh occasioally.

exactly. i wish we could do it more on here. thing is i got leary of it. so sometimes i dont even get in on the fun its nice to talk fun things and joke around. wish it went over here a lot more.

hi laken thats it exactly ,a place to destress and unwind among friends and getting paid for having fun is wonderful too.I have learned if someone gets quarrelsome with me not to get that way but just think if its really an insult then just report it to my lot.its up to them to decide if it was insult or just heat of argument. I dislike arguing so stay away from religion and politics.

I also think that cents makes good amount at the end of the month and it is also fun spending time here.

hisuebee welcome to mylot. do read the guidelines and the FAQ's too as it will help y ouo to iknow a lot more about mylot than I can ever explain. just relax and have fu n and participate a lot and suddenly you will be amazed a how much y ou made just for having fu n here,. making friends from all over the world is the best part for me and of c ourse I too can use the earnings but you will find people are really friendly here too.

Well, you could actually make hundreds on here ... of course, those hundreds might be hundreds of pennies, but hey, even those add up after a while. Seriously, though, I am sure that I have made at least a couple hundred dollars on here. I used to make at least the minimum payout every month, and I have been here for several years, so that would actually add up to a few hundred dollars.

Oh I agree, there is money to be made here. How much depends on how much time you have to invest in it. So far I'm quite enjoying it and when that happens, the money becomes secondary.

thanks danishcanadian I try to laugh more and smile more as I am usually a serious person bu t my hubby did a lot in teaching me to have a better sense of humor.I still miss him' though he has been gone since1991.he taught me to like myself and how to laugh at some of the irritating things in life.

hi betlynfrnds y es thats it we actually get paid for enjoying ourselves with our mylot friends here. we comment back and forth and someone teases us and we tease back and yet we keep the topic in mind all the time.My earnings go towards paying my cable internet bill without which I could not mylot or do anything else on the net.

And some people would have the nerve to say that we're wasting our time here -- HA. Take you for example. Your internet bill is taken care of by your activities on myLot. I'm impressed. Then you have other who say 'what?' You're doing what online? Funny thing is many times they are the very ones who waste time doing online junk. myLot is definately a hot spot and, oh yes, I've learned a few things here too.

I have learned so m uch every day from my frienmds from all over the world as to their customs and cultures. and its been so interesting and even amusing . mylot really has a lot for all of us.

I told him I did bnot mean I thought we should make nonsensical discussions jusgt that we could share a laugh on good discussions too.My doctor tells me laughing and smiling are actually good for your heart.so thats a great recommendation to have fun once in a while.

If its mean and hurtful then no its not fun.Yes the difference is whatmakles the world more exciting.

Having fun in enjoying eachother is what I thought you meant too. What's wrong with having alittle good hearted fun anyway? We are keeping the quality of the discussion, just making it alittle light hearted is all. We all have our individual ways of looking at thing. Wouldn't it be a boring world if we didn't?!

hi sinfulrose right on the button yes, I do g et a kick out of some his discussions as they invite us to have fun too and sometimes we need some fun in our days as well as serious stuff too.I love the fact that we can enjoy ourselves and still get paid for it.nothing else would make me sit here at seven thirty on Sunday night typing away like mad. I also like serious discussions but we can always hav e a smile or a laugh along the way too.

I have to admit that sometimes I forget how to have fun around MyLot. I am so intent to earn myself money or reach my goal earning that I forgot that having fun around MyLot is what one needs to be doing. The money just comes as a bonus to our fun and enjoyment. Thinking about earning just stresses us more since MyLot isn't actually a site to get rich but a site to enjoy ourselves. hi SinfulRose when I first came here on myI was co unting posts and making myself nutso with it and oddly not really making much earnings.I decided to do less posting not count any thing but make my posts really quality.and one day while joking with friends here I looked at my earnings and was shocked that i had earned three tinmes as much while having fun and making better posts. loll Yes I found mylot in my retirement and have been having fun here too.

hi chang I think he thought i meant silly discussions but I was not talking about that but about semi serious theres a vasdifference as its sense with some nonsense thrown in for good measure.

hi chang I tried to exp lain to this one young m an who was semi scolding me as he thought i me antg make nonsense discu ssions when I never ever said that. I jus meant we can smile and la ugh even in serious discussions as a sense of humor often helps to m ake a serious discussion more explainable. we do not violate the rules b ut we do make it fun at times to respond and participate on my lot.

Perhaps Some people made a fuss or they were too prim to enjoy the fun.
