Hello people I think it has been two weeks since the last time I participated on discussions here. I was being busy with my offline life back then. And then, obviously, I got no myLot earnings within that time. It made me think that it's the right time for me for searching some active referrals so that I can got some passive incomes here. But I still don't understand how myLot's referral earning works.. From here - http://www.mylot.com/nr/earnings_r.aspx, it is stated that "Anybody who signs up for myLot after clicking on your referral link will be included as one of your referrals. You will then receive a myLot earnings bonus equal to 25% of that user's myLot earnings." And from here - http://www.mylot.com/nr/earnings.aspx, we understand that myLot earnings consist of participation + referrals + tasks + rewards. Does that mean we can make some money from referral's referral? As example, let's say that my referral got 0.04 from his referrals. So, can I get 25% from that 0.04 (0.01)? And also I think I ever red in discussions that if our referrals get their myLot tasks approved, there will be no referral earning for us. Is that right? I tried to look for information at FAQ section about referral - http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq14.aspx But it doesn't help much.. :o From these words: "Anybody who signs up for myLot after clicking on your referral link will be included as one of your referrals. You will then receive a myLot earnings bonus equal to 25% of that user's myLot earnings." It would be safe to assume that we get 25% from all activities that our referrals done (participation + referrals + tasks + rewards). But I am not sure about it, and haven't tested it by myself though.. What do you think? And also, one extra thing to discuss: have you got any luck with referrals here in mylot? :D

I have referrals here and I am certain that referral earnings ONLY come from their participation in the discussions. On the referral page, beside each user, is the total amount that they have produced during the month and it only relates to earnings from discussions. I have referrals who use the search and complete tasks and have reached payout but their particpation in the discussions is minimal, as is the amount of referral earnings that I have received from their activity. If we want earnings for having brought them here then we have to spur them on to get busy in the discussions or we will not see referral earnings.

If we want earnings for having brought them here then we have to spur them on to get busy in the discussions or we will not see referral earnings. Then it would be harder to gain one.. Anyway, thanks for confirming it Although perhaps I think myLot should improves their FAQ page about this matter. I guess they hardly say anything about this.. --; Thanks again! :)

Yes I agree that it should be made clearer and some of us suggested this to myLot a long time ago in a discussion with GoAskAlice. I searched for it but didn't find it (and then the phone rang). I will try again later and link it here if I find it.

The correct answer is actually given in the FAQs here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14 I'm surprised that neither the Lamb or you seem to have remembered that!

I know, MyLot information is sometimes not quite as clear as it might be, however, I think the definitive answer is to be found here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14 "Refer friends. For each person you send to myLot you will receive a bonus equal to 25% of their discussion and image earnings." When you look at your Earnings page, you will see a red announcement saying that "Discussion and image earnings are now combined into one line item called "participation"." So you do NOT receive anything in respect of your referral's 'referral', 'tasks' or 'rewards' earnings. This emphasises the fact that MyLot is primarily a discussion site and that the other kinds of earning are incidental. The object behind any referral system is to increase the membership with worthwhile members. Most referral systems pay between 5% and 10% of the referral's earnings. MyLot is particularly generous in offering 25% of the earnings of referrals who participate in discussions! In answer to your final question: No, I have had very little luck with referrals. There are plenty of people out there who would potentially be excellent members - I am constantly coming across them in other forums and as people who make long and intelligent comments on blogs, news items and all sorts of places (even Facebook) but most of them either have no interest in earning a few cents for their work or resist joining because they think that ALL online earnings are suspect.

So they had mentioned it.. But too bad it doesn't be put in Referral FAQ section. (http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq14.aspx) And also the information here - http://www.mylot.com/nr/earnings_r.aspx is quiet biased and ambiguous. Thanks for the information, anyway :).

from what i know, you only get to earn from their participation, such as creation of discussion, and you also get to earn from their comments and pics uploaded. Never on their referral's earnings because that would already be a third level of earning... :D

Thanks for your response! Hehe, yes. Now I am quite sure about this. This link - http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14 confirms it - we can only earn from their participation. Too bad, I wish we can also earn from referral's referrals and also their search rewards.. :P
