I can't sleep. I go to bed, but I can't seem to shut down. My mind is always thinking of something or other. I've tried sleepy time tea, counting, hot bath before bed. With no different result. I'm wide awake. Why can't I sleep! When I do finally fall asleep it seems it's time to get up. What do you do to help fall asleep?

Typically not being able to sleep is due to your mind not being at ease. Weeks that I have a hectic class/work/life schedule, I can lay in bed for hours trying to solve impeding problems. What has worked best for me, and honesty has worked well: exercise. I'll normally strength train 5 times a week and run 4 times a week until complete exhaustion. Doing this triggers endorphins and really gives you a sense of accomplishment. Besides that, focusing on deep breathes while laying down and taking the time to make your bed very well before going to sleep. I've found that helps too.
