The world is getting smaller and smaller but we are getting more and more apart.

It is so common now to work in another country. The idea of working overseas is something not to fear about in terms of the difficulties one might encounter like differences of people and culture. The internet just provides tons of information about the world. It is so easy to just hop into any public transportation and you are already on the other side of the world. That's how my family members did, almost all of us found a job in the country they are in now including me.
The world has gotten smaller indeed with all these easy access to information technology and convenient transportations that could bring people to almost every corner of the world and yes, the universe. But I just see my siblings and friends on computer screens. We would talk, laugh and eat in front of our computers but it takes years for us to see each other again.

To some the world might get smaller to most of us it's not. Even the village we live in is already gigantic. I don't think we are getting more and more apart, everything is still the same. It just depends on where you live and how you live plus your own point of view on the world. If it takes years to see eachother you are not interested in seeing them at all since if you really want you will find a way.

You are right, but its not even about being in different countries. My siblings and I are all in one country but we see less and less of each other, thanks to chain letters on email, texts etc. Its amazing how paying a visit to each other is not so important any more, now that we can communicate 24/7. I sometimes miss a time when all we had was a fixed telephone line, that was under lock and key, as we grew up. Visiting was really important then.
