There have been reports around the world of strange vibrating sounds that shake the surroundings. Scientist think that it's electromagnetic pulses hitting the earth from the sun that normally cause things like aurora borealis but in these cases the magnetic field is causing a vibrating sound off of a resonating structure. Others say that it is HAARP being tested of which their are several around the world. Some still say its a hoax or minor earth quakes. Others say its a strangelet that is gaining mass caused by the Cern experiments. Could it be people are just paying greater attention to their surroundings do to the 2012 Mayan calendar hype? Here are some videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RadAAlHUyxI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZQwyV7wHzM Jeremiah 25:31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

After I saw the videos, I think I have heard it, I cant know for sure. But I remember it was dark outside and it did sound like metal being dragged, screeching but somehow not annoying like nails on chalkboard. I remember thinking now who is doing construction at this time? Its uncanny to hear it on the videos you gave. I didnt know the same sound is heard around the world.

My sister and niece told me they had heard something just like the video where they live and the whole house shook. They checked outside to see if it was a truck outside but there was nothing. I live close to train tracks so I tune out sounds all the time and the occasional shaking. The only time I noticed anything different was one time when the train hit a semi and they put on the brakes. So even if it had happened near me I doubt I would notice.

I think they just copied videos from YouTube and assembled them into one video. Still there are a lot of other videos from actual news stations of people hearing not only that sound but large booms and other things. If you go to YouTube and do a search you will see that there are a lot of unexplained sounds these days.

Hi EvanHunter, I follow the news daily but haven't heard of this before reading your discussion. It is however interesting but I think we can be certain, that it is not trumpets of the Apocalypse. It could be that we are being monitored by visitors from another planet, which is not as crazy an idea as some people think, and doesn't mean that anyone is preparing to attack us. It could also be the result of natural occurrences. Blessings.

Another option I ran across is that it is a government program called project blue beam. Using satellites they can broadcast sounds and even pictures in the atmosphere. Apparently during the first gulf war they considered using it on Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait to get them to drop their weapons and surrender by making it appear as if it was some kind of divine appearance.
