Eat just when you're hungry

The regular eating habit should be 3 times a day. But when my summer vacation begun, I eat only 1-2 times a day. That is because, I always have this thought "Eat just when you're hungry".
I eat around 2pm then before sleeping 7pm or 8pm. Very often that I eat on time and 3 times a day. If I eat in the morning like 7am my next meal time will be 7pm. Or just when I feel hungry.
Hmm.. Is it bad? or should I change my summer eating habit? Or it is good in some ways?

i also eat in small portion and that is why i feel hungry after two to three hours too. The usual three times a day meal has been a routine, and that is why my wife makes it a point to leave some left-overs for me to eat at a later time or she would just cook noodles when i get hungry.

I do not see any relationship with obesity, as i think i'm not obese although maybe mildly, lol! The left-over usually make up four to five spoonful of the food served at lunch and dinner that i could turn to when hunger sets in. If no left overs, then there is bread or eggs or what have you, lol!

My sister always telling me not to eat rice left overs cause it is high in calories. I have no idea if its real. But I guess it has something to do with hotness or coldness. Just a wild hypothesis.

I think that learning to eat only when you're hungry is something that is a good idea, because a lot of us are using food as a way to stop being bored rather than to stop us from being hungry which you should really be doing. The only problem with this is that many of us don't really know what being "hungry" feels like until you're starving. So lots of people will find themselves eating because the think they might need food, or just because they have nothing better to do at the time. If you know what your body is like and how it feels to be hungry then this would work in order to keep yourself healthy.

It's really good if we just eat when we're hungry because that's what food is for, it's for sustaining our stomach's needs. I think it's not for our pleasure, maybe it's because I think it's gluttony if we eat when we don't need it.

Actually, it seems sensible. I eat too when I am hungry. Though,I observed I got hungry just after 2 to 3 hours. We can actually eat often but only in small portions than eating at long intervals then eating large amount of foods.

I'm the 2nd person that you described. Long intervals then eating large amount. Very very large amount. for 3-4 persons actually.

I usually eat one time a day. Occasionally, will snack on something around noon. I guess my eating habits are terrible, but I'm only eating when I'm hungry. I can't see forcing myself to eat at scheduled times when I'm not hungry. I guess as long as you feel fine the way your eating habits are, you're okay.

Oh! that's a very good health maintenance suggestion from your end. In fact, it is a healthy habit of eating only when you are hungry.In nature we find that animals eat and drink only only when their bodily system necessitates the same. Animals in fact eat only when they are hungry ...they drink only when they are thirsty. It is nature's way of exercising life's ways.

It almost the same with me but I eat even later. I think that body know well when it needs "recharging" and in my opinion it's more natural to eat when you're hungry. Many years I was trying to eat by the 3 meals a day at a certain time standard but just after starting to eat when I want to made me feel great. So in my opionion your choice is the best choice.

I don't think it is a good idea- i read somewhere that we should follow a pattern and or just wait for our stomach to get very hungry, since it may affect our body or how it works.. But i do eat only when i am hungry..and sometimes i get so hungry..but i don't get to eat- i have no particular time in eating..i think it's bad.

hi,
actually those people who have eat even they are not hungry are those obese people.because they eat more than three times a day and not just a food but those high on calories such as cakes,chocolates and other sweet foods that contain high fats.for me if i am hungry i will eat but if not i will not of course.

I believe that food is just for the human survival. I think it is a good for your health but make sure that you have your proper food when you feel hungry. If you don't give proper food when you feel them it will make your health bad.

I think the whole "eat only when you are hungry" is a great method. The only problem is many of us feel hungry more then twice a day. I don't think there is anything wrong with what you are doing, as long you eat when you are hungry. I don't think that it's the quantity of times you eat a day that count, but the quality of food you eat. Good luck to you and happy eating.

Yes, it's not good to take your meals at different times of the day. You could get hyperacidity or ulcer for delaying meal time. And, if you also eat too frequently, of course you'll gain unnecessary weight. Our body can't take too many surprises and a little change on your routines could lead to something worse, if not corrected soon enough

Eatting only two times a day is definitely a bad habit.I should tell you that if you do it for a long time,you will suffer the bad consequence in the future.My father is an example.He used not to eat breakfast very often when he was young and now he sometimes has a stomachache because of it.That is what he himself told me and he often ask me to have breakfast,for I do not eat breakfast sometimes.So you had better to eat three times a day regularly.Well,let me think it further,if there will be something wrong with your health in the future,maybe a large sum of money will spend on cure.And then,I think that it is easy to change your summer eatting habit.I think that there are always someone having good eatting habits around you,just follow their footsteps.when they are having breakfast,you should don it with them.
