It was only about $2.00 from the thrift store today and with their 25% they have every Mon and Thurs. It looks brand new and never used, only the box has been opened. Everything including a small recipe book included. It has the tray, a cover and two slicers. I want to try it so bad, have you ever tried to make your own chips? Were they just regular potato chips or something different like sweet potatoes, apple chips, or even beet chips? Have you thought of anything else I could make into a "chip" too? Just in case this works, that is. It is supposed to be healthier than regular fried chips.

Well, I tried it with the regular potatoes and left them in for a total of 9 minutes. They didn't come out too crispy, however. Some parts were rubbery, and other parts crispy. I don't know what I did wrong. I will have to try it with something else like apples, etc. next time. If it doesn't work out at all then I'll try reselling it on another site. I guess you can make chips in the oven as well.

Congratlations on making such a great deal! I have made my own chips but the hard way. Taking a potato, cutting it up, and then frying in veggie oil. They were very good! Sounds like your option is a little healtier though.

Thanks, I think I did OK, it seems I may have wasted some $ if I can't get the apples to work better than the potatoes did. I need to try the sweet potatoes too before I make up my mind about it all. There seems to be a part of me who likes collecting kitchen gadgets these days. I got a donut batter drop thing the other month and some other little things in there over the last few months and only used them up to one time so far.
