Yesterday my husband and I visited a small theme park. We decided to ride the ferris wheel, and there was a great view of the town from the top of the ferris wheel. We also looked at the other rides and listened to the people who screamed. When I was younger I enjoyed rollercoasters and that kind of things, today I prefer to watch them from a distanse
When I was a child my parents, my brother and I sometimes visited Tivoli in Copenhagen. It was quite far from our home so we weren't able to go there that often. There is another theme park in the area around Copenhagen. We also visited that place, but my parents usually prefered Tivoli.
Are there any theme parks in your area? Do you visit them or did you visit them in the past? What kind of rides do you enjoy?

I have been only to Disney World and Islands of Adventure and I loved it. They were really fun! I like the adrenaline rush that you get from roller coasters and other fast rides. It was 12 years ago and I remember the experince. I would definitively visit them again if I had the money. Sadly, where I live there are no theme parks worth visiting.

I know Disney world, but I haven't heard about Islands of Adventure, where is that theme park? There are no theme parks in my area either. The one that I visited yesterday was not a permanent place, they travel from place to place and tomorrow they are going to leave our area. My favourite theme park is Tivoli in Copenhagen. It is not close to my island and the entrance fee and the rides are quite expensive so I am not able to visit Tivoli very often. I haven't been there for years, but maybe I will get the chance to go where when I visit Copenhagen next time

Porco, i only visit Themepark, 2 times in my life. I like riding the ferris wheel but feeling scare at the same time. I never been to the roller-coaster, since i scare to hear the scream sound. I prefer having fun playing the bumper cars and having a ride in the mini train with my child. The next school holiday, i plan to ride the others including the carousel. Have you ever ride it, Porco?

I remember riding the carousel in the past. My brother and I used to visit themeparks together and we liked most of the rides. The bumper cars are fun, too. My brother and I used to enjoy the collercoasters, but today I usually watch them from the ground instead. I like the ferris wheel, because I enjoy the view from the top. When my husband and I rode the ferris wheel in the themepark last week we were able to see the entire themepark as well as part of the town. The themepark that we visited is not a permanent themepark, they travel from place to place and now their have left our area.

No..no..to be quite frank...these theme parks are a business oriented fantasy proposals...and nothing more than that in its outset.Large gathering of children accompanied by their family members are drawn to these artificial water fountains or streams with a shrewd motive of collecting revenue beyond limits. After all what does these theme manifestations offer by way of delight?

I think you are the first person in this discussion who said that you didn't like theme parks, and it is interesting to hear from someone who disagrees Like anything else a theme park is a business and of course they are interested in earning as much money as possible, but I don't share your opinion about the theme parks and I don't see them as something bad. I enjoy visiting them and I think that it is a place to relax and have fun. I have many happy memories from the theme parks that I have visited with my friends.

Almost every city and town here in my country has a theme park. The last time I visited our themepark here was when my college friend went home from abroad and decided to go to the themepark we always visit when we are still teens. Now my daughter and her friends always visited themepark specially when Ber months are approaching, thrifts shops around and even celebrities are invited to performed on the stage while the others are riding.

I didn't know that there were so many theme parks in the Philipppines. In my country I think that we have about 6 or 7 in the entire country. There used to be a theme park in the city where I was born and I have many happy memories from that place. My brother and I used to visit it quite often because he was friends with the family who owned the theme park and we got free tickets. Today that theme park no longer exists and that it is a little sad. I could have been fun to visit it again like you did when you visited theme park that you used to visit as a teenager. I don't think that the theme park in my area earned enough money, and Tivoli in Copenhagen is much more popular.

I love these parks. But my boyfriend is afraid of heights, it is worse than turning and not going to these places. It's nice when both partners like such places. When traveling to France,my boyfriend did not want to climb the Eiffel Tower.Very hard I convinced him to go up.He had a lot of fear.If you bring in this park will sit and watch.

Personally I am not afraid of heights, but I can imagine that theme park wouldn't be a good place to visit when you don't like heights, because most of the rides would be a challenge. The Eiffel tower is another scary place for a person who is afraid of heights. I have visited the Eiffel tower and I went all the way to the top, but some of the people from my group didn't want to come, they prefered to stay on the ground, I think that they were afraid of heights like your boyfriend.

Yes, We have still have themepark here in my place, it's quite really cool, it's quite fun, enjoying, and there are many rides where you can choose too,, and I like it of course but I am not really interested riding it cause it's quite scary for me being on air and I do not think I will be able to do it since my friend telling me hey why not give it a try and I just smile and told them it's more fun watching with you guys riding on rides than myself being on there and they understand and respect me as well.

It is great that your friends understand and respect your decision. If you feel more comfortable on the ground, there is no reason why you should force yourself to join your friends on the rides I used to love the fast rides like the rollercoaster, but today I often stay on the ground most of the time. I like the ferris wheel because of the view, but that is about it. There are no permanent theme parks in my area anymore, and I don't visit them very often, but sometimes it is nice to visit one of the theme parks in other parts of the country.

There are no theme parks in my country as yet but in a few cities like mine there are water parks with water slides. In my city there are 3 of them though i have not visited any of them and never will. When i was young we had regular fairs where all sort of stalls were put up and people would visit them in large numbers. For us children there was the kiddies corner with the ferris wheel, merry-go-round, slides, magic mirror etc.Naturally we would make a beeline for this section. My parents would take me and my younger brother to them and we would eat at the food stalls which were more expensive than restaurant food.Since it was once in a while it was okay.Sadly this type of entertainment has completely vanished as there are other forms of entertainment available now and also people don`t have the time.

I enjoyed reading your description of the fairs that you and your family visited when you were a child. Fairs like that still exist in my country. They take place during the summer months and my husband and I often visit them. There are stalls where they sell food, drinks, second hand things and many other things and there is kiddies corner with slides, merry-go-round and many other things. There some fairs where they also sell animals like horses, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs. I like those fairs a lot. They food that they sell is quite cheap and the second hand things that people sell are also cheap.

Hi porcospino, there are four themeparks near me, I live in the Gold Coast in Australia and my kids and I have passes to them and tend to go more often then not but after awhile it tends to get a bit old and boring but there are some rollercoasters that are just a continuous adrenalin rush, they are fun and it gives good memories with my kids.

I think it is nice that there are some theme parks near your home and that you and your children visit them together. You get some good memories together that way. My parents, my brother and I used to visit the theme park in Copenhagen, but we didn't do it very often, because it was quite far from our home. My brother and I were always very happy when our parents told us that we were going to Copenhagen, because we knew that a visit to the theme park was usually a part of the trip

I like natural parks, too. There is a big natural park on my island, and it is my favourite natural park. There are lots of sculptures in that park, and they are all made from natural materials like stones and trees. Sometimes it is difficult to find the sculptures because they look like a part of the park. I like to explore the different parts of the park and try to find the different sculptures. I also like to visit theme parks. Some days ago I had the chance to visit a small theme park like I mentioned when I started this discussion. We had a great time there. We rode in the ferris wheel and walked around and looked at the other rides. There was no rollercoaster, but there were other kinds of rides.

I love them so much, but I haven't been to one for ages! My environment doesn't really care about them... my family and my friends are scaredy-cats and no one would sit with me in a ferries wheel or a rollercoaster! I would also sit in a dodgecar-as a passanger, because I'm kind of... well, I haven't ever drove one and I know I'd be really bad at it :D.

I like the cars, but I am not good at driving them either When my brother and I went to a theme park together I was always the passenger. Your family and your friends sound like my mother. I was never able to persuade her to join me in the rollercoaster, she prefered to watch me from the ground. I used to love rollercoasters, and my brother and I or my friends and I always went straight to the rollercoaster. It was the most popular ride in the theme park and there were always a long line of people waiting in front of us. Today I prefer the ferris wheel, it is a great place to look at the entire theme park.

I love swings, too. It is definately fun to visit a theme park with some friends. Some years ago my friends and I went on a mini vacation in Copenhagen. In the evening we visited the famous theme park in Copenhagen (Tivoli) and we had a lot of fun there I would like to go back to Copenhagen and visit Tivoli as well as the other theme park in the area close to Copenhagen. I haven't been to the other theme park since I was a child. Unfortunately it is a bit expensive, so I think that it will take a while before I will be able to go there.

There are a lot of theme parks in our area. Knotts Berry Farm, 6 Flags, Disneyland, Sea World...and then the littler ones as well are out here too. I love going to a theme park and think I have been spoiled by having them so close. What is your favorite ride at a theme park near you?

I have been to Disneyland in France, but I would like to visit Disneyland in the US as well - if I get the chance to visit the US someday. I have heard about the other them parks that you mentioned, but I only know their names. In the past my favourite rides were the viking ship and the ghost train. When I was a child there was a theme park in the city where I grew up. My brother got free tickets because the theme park belonged to the parents of one of his classmates, we went there very often. The theme park was relatively small compared to the theme parks in Copenhagen, but we always had a good time. Today that theme park no longer exists.
