Have you gone and bought a home-style dinner and acted like you made it yourself? Come on? I won't tell. Everyone that knows me Knows I don't cook, I bake. So I wouldn't pull it off. How about you?

No I have never done that before. i wonder how could one ever pull off a trick like that on others, especially to loveones close to one and one's kitchen? Luckily for me, people know that I can cook, so I will not need to claim other people's fame unto myself. Sarahruthbeth22, may I suggest that even if you've a recipe available at your disposal, it would be good to tell anyone you're cooking for that the meal is not your original creation. That's the better way to go.

I agree. The only reasons I can see Having to do this, is because you lied and said you Can cook! Me? I take pride in saying I don't cook. Anyone who is expecting me to cook will be deeply disappointed. I bake and I make semi homemade items and I always tell what cake mix I used as a base.

I will not do so. I don't mind making a call to buy the food. And I will not pretend that they were made by myself. I enjoy cooking and I'd like to show my dishes when I have good mood and spare time to do so. I love China

I"m not sure what you mean by a homestyle dinner, but when I buy anything I don't cook at home, I don't pretend I did. The only one I ever feed anymore is my husband, and he knows when I'm cooking and when I'm not.

No, I wouldn't because I can cook a full course Indian meal from scratch. But if I was visiting someone who did it and I later got to know about it, I would probably tease them but not bother about it too much.

It is a little hard work since we are rice eaters. But I do make rotis on a regular basis and naan sometimes. So, the answer is yes, I can make naan. But it wouldn't come out as a the ones we get at a restaurant since I do not have a tandoor. Mini tandoors are available in the market but we haven't invested in one since I wouldnt be using one regularly.

No, but when I was a teenager and was making dinner for someone, I did use a store bought pie and let them think I made the dessert.

When I was younger I might have tried something like that. I had to learn how to cook on my own when I left home and it wasn't pretty a few times. I didn't have any major catastrophes but I sure had some ups and downs. I do remember getting a home-style dinner for friends that came over once when I was in my late teens-early twenties and just didn't say anything either way..LOL...I can't remember if they asked me but I would have told them the truth if they had...but I wouldn't have offered the info either.

I raise my hand, guilty as charged! Whenever we have guests in the house, which is not often, I found it just easier to just buy food. I wouldn't buy anything fancy, but just regular dishes. Dishes that no one would suspect I didn't make. I wouldn't deny it if I was 'cornered', but I wouldn't volunteer the truth either.

I have said that in a joke but never for real. Some of those dinners are pretty good. But they are loaded with sodium. I still prefer fresh cooked food. but in a pinch or when I am feeling lazy, those dinners are the right fit.

Thats cool. But too much of those fast foods are not good. I can see sometimes but not all the time. I have been getting back to my healthy eating habits. I have no choice. You know, diabetes. But I will every once in a while cheat with some of that food.

Hahahaha. Busted! lol Yes, I have done that but only as a joke. Everybody knows I don't cook, or bake for that matter. I mean, I can cook enough so that my husband and I would never starve or anything. I have, however done it on occasion, and I guess that's just my warped sense of humour coming out. I never let the person go on believing that I made it for any length of time though. For instance, maybe I have a great "homestyle" pie for dessert and if someone exclaims "Oh this is sooo good, did you make it?" my respose will be Yes! Yes I did! Do you like it? But I always confess shortly afterwards that I was just kidding.

Not in a million years, In my opinion people who do that are ashamed to let the world know they can not cook, otherwise those peopl would be honest. I would just say "you know I can't cook, but I can shop, so here's a nice meal anyway." LOL No way am I going to pass something off as mine, when I clearly did not make that. As an author, I know that's got to be a form of plagiarism. LOL

Honestly NO,I have never done such thing. I know how to cook, maybe not an expert style-but I can cook some special recipes. My friend knows what are my speciality thu I also tried some other recipes for a change when we're having some fun or get together party. I love cooking pasta and salad for desserts :)

no, i cook at home and so does my husband. we seldom take out food from restaurant and we just eat there. i am not a really good cook but i think i cook well because my husband and my son eat much when i cook a meal so i don't need to buy a food and pretend i cook it.
