I drink more than 8 glass of water everyday

I usually drink 4 glass after a breakfast, then 4 glass in the afternoon and 4 glass in the evening before I went to sleep. Sometimes I drink 5 glass in between, I wonder will water makes us look bloated, coz I saw in youtube, some people just look bloated if they drink much. What do you think?

It is a widespread fallacy that one needs to drink "8 glasses of water a day"! Too mush water can actually be dangerous because it dilutes the electrolytes. Most food contains more water than you realise and ALL drinks are more than 90% water. As long as you don't feel thirsty and pee at least three or four times a day, you are likely to be getting enough water.

This is an even stronger concern in the summer time, especially for athletes and young children, and for people with certain medical conditions, such as Diabetes. In general, it is not the best choice for someone with Diabetes to drink things like Gatorade, but I know someone that was told that is exactly what he should be drinking in the summer, because he was making himself sick by only drinking water, especially since he works outdoors. Of course, he is also supposed to drink some water, but the electrolytes are very important, which is why he needed to substitute some of the water for Gatorade.

i think its great that you drink that much water and will not hurt you keep up the good work, i am lucky if i get in one glass a day and i think it has took a toll on my health.. my question to you is this .. are you driking the water by itself or are you adding anything to it, i like ice in my water , and it jas to be cold i hate the taste of water espically tap water.. are you drinking bottled water or tap water ? just curious to see how you do it. i would love to be able to do that and if i can get past the taste i might be able to do it as well.. any suggestions

I drink boiled water after its been cooling down, I boiled a lot of water in a day, I don't drink tap because of its taste.

Its actually good to drink 8 glass of water or more a day cos my doctor actually advised me too cos its good for my health and dont forget that our blood comprises of about 96% of water also its good for nursing mothers as it helps prevented dehydration.

Every person should have to drink alteast 10 glass in a day. It's good in summer for your health. I also drink 10-12 glass of water in single day.

Actually, every person should not drink at least ten glasses of water in a day. Yes, most people do need to drink water, but there are certain medical conditions that prevent people from drinking that much water (or any kind of fluid), because it is not good for them and actually can cause bloating due to the fluid not being properly removed from their bodies.

Hi wongchoiyee, I don't think drinking more than 8 glasses of water a day could make you bloated. I learned somewhere that the right number of glasses for waily water intake is actually 12 and not just 8. Drinking water is vital for our survival so I don't think a little over the recommended daily allowance wouldn't do you any harm. The only effect of excessive water drinking as far as I know would be frequent sweating when you're exposed to warm temperature and of course, excessive trip to the comfort room. Another point on this is that our body could only take as much liquid as it come, whatever the excess would be drained through perspiration and going to the john, so I think there is really nothing to worry about. Still, for some peace of mind, I suggest that you consult your physician just so we can be safe for that matter. But personally, I'd rather take excessive liquid and drain it than die of dehydration.

As we know, water is very important to us and we drink water every day. But i believe that it's more important to know how to drink water effectively.Many people say that we should drink 8 glasses of water every day.In fact, i think the 8 glasses of water includes water, fruit juice , soup,etc. On the one hand, these liquid substances are generally called water which are necessary to our health every day. In that case, we don't need to force ourselves to drink 8 glasses of real water. On the other hand, drink too much water may wash away some nutrition in our body. So how to drink water correctly? First, every time,we drink water ,we should do it slowly for our body to absorb. Second , we don't need to drink too much water ,or it only can serve for cleaning the toilet bowls.

I don't think you'll be bloated as long as you drink your water BEFORE your meal. And after your meal, you tend to stand up for at least 15 minutes. Nope, absolutely nothing wrong with drinking too much water since it'll help with your digestion. That's what I do, I drink 2 glasses before meals and not drink anything at least for an hour afterwards because it tends to bloat my stomach. So I just stand and walk around to make my digestion better. Hope this helps!

good day wongchoiyee, well according to the dietician that i have spoken to, the ideal glasses of water intake is 12. however, it is still fine if we do not achieve that, hence, it depends on how our body will react on the liquid intake that we do. the amount of water that you drink is still normal as long as you perspire in the right way. especially now that the summer season begins.

hi choi yee! I don't know about it and I never hears such thing. What I know is just get enough water for yourself. Different people will need different amount of water. I think I have more than 8 glass but it is not necessary to have 8 glasses each day. SOme may drink less and some will have more~(^^)

'Too much of anything is good for nothing' On an average one can consume 5-6 litres per day. If you are within this limit you need not worry :)

hats off to you...because, i can never drink 8 to 10 glasses , a day.. yes its good to drink water , but too much/excess of anything is not good for health...you can better judge yourself, and can make out , do you really have any problem after drinking so much water..if there is none then go ahead....

I can not agree more. When I sit at the desk before the computer, I always drink in the break. I think water can take away the toxin in our body.

Yeah, drinking to much water is bad for your health not just because it makes you feel bloated, there are other health concerns. Acute water intoxication can cause electrolyte imbalance.

i don't think so. i used to drink two liters of water but still i'm not that bloated. well i think you will not because the more you drink, the more you pee. so water is not stuck in your body system. it just goes out and cleanses your system. water is really good for us. it detoxify our body system.

Drinking water is good for health because it helps to eliminate the toxins. I drink water or tea, milk and other liquids every time I need to. Specialists say you must drink a glass of water in the morning and one hour before meals and in between the meals. Those who seams bloated after drinking too much (water or spirit?) may have some health problems such as retention of water.

That's a nice point, maybe I have water retention so I tend to bloated up after drinking water. It looks plumpy when I see myself in the mirror, doesn't look good. Thanks for the comment.

I don't know if you will look bloated when drinking too much water. Maybe, the cells absorbs water too much and will swell and makes you look bloated. I think it is good to be drink just enough water. This will make your body stays hydrated. Also, this will help in cleansing you body. There are no other fluid that can really cleanse your body except water.

If your body is at its normal state, with no medical complications, drinking a lot of water can't be bad for your body. It will always find a way out thru perspiration or urine. I drink liters of water everyday, especially with the summer heat. It's such a relief to drink cold water. I even have edema, which is water retention, and my hands and legs are really bloated, but I still drink lots of water. Edema is a common thing during pregnancy, and Ive been having this for 4 months, now, and there's no cure but wait until delivery.

Water doesn't get you bloated. Bloating is caused by other things, like reflux, lactose intolerance, constipation etc. You're very lucky you can drink that much water in a day. It washes away toxins in your body. I can't go for 2 liters a day and no more. You should keep it up. I'm sure it'll keep you healthy. =D
