Reading goal

I love to read, but I do not have a goal....well. I buy books at year sales etc...and so does my mom. she rreads them and passes them along to me and I do the same. She reads a lot more than me, sso I end up getting more books than I can read. WE also do the same with magazines. I have friends who give them to me, I read them and pass them along to mom and others. I am sooo backlogged with books and magazines. To top it off, I have a Blackberry and installed the app for ebooks....so I download books to read from my phone too. My night stand, armoire in my bedroom is full of books. I need to get reading to get these books gone....I simply just can't give them to charity if I haven't read them!! That would be just impossible.

Well, I think it's a wonderful thing fixed the goal of being able to read some 50 books in a year. A good book has always been called "brain food". But now we are in the era of the ebook. You think, maybe next year go to this revolutionary new system of interpretation? Sure, I'll hope so.

I dont have a goal set of how many books I want to read this year but I am keeping track of them. As I finish one I write about it on gather. I think I am up to 17 books maybe I'm not sure. I would have to go look. I just finished a book a few minutes ago and am going to start a new one called Bared. Its a harlequin blaze book.

In 2009 I read 130 books with a goal of 100 books. Last year, 2010, I had the same goal and was hoping that I could surpass it, but some pretty bad stuff was happening last year and I only read 89 books. This year I decided to set the bar lower because technically bad stuff isn't over yet, and my goal is to read 90 books. I'm behind again and I've only read 20 books so far this year (and that's counting the bite sized children's novels... cause I do that!). Good luck with your reading goal! I think that you can do it! That's a do-able goal! I am sure you can do it. I need to start keeping track of these things. I have probably read about the same as you so far this year, probably around 15 books or so. Reading is definitely a nice change of pace from using the internet. I am reading "My Friend Leonard" by James Frey right now. What are you reading? We are the same. I set 50 books too as my goal this year and so far I have read 22 books, so I'm like 6 books ahead in my pace.

Lack of internet explains why I have not seen you around much lately. I hope you do well with your goal, you seem pretty well on track.

That is some kind o definite target.The habit of reading books is a genuine good habit to be cultivated in full format. Reading in its entirety makes a full man, ready enough to face the outside world with full boldness and concern.

Wow you have a really nice goal, i have to say. I wish i read books more. I mean I love reading books but haven't read one in a long time. I probably should make a goal like that too, well maybe a little less. Like 10 books this year hehe :)
