chelsea goes to final after won in agregate 3:2, sergio and iniesta's goal can't keep them alive though they was gifted by a penalty that failed by messi, a beatiful goal from ramires and injury time's shame goal from torres makes them reach the final since a couple years ago. i just boring when saw the blues playing super defensife football, but is it really the effective way to win over barca?? inter win with that way, and last time madrid too,i mean the strategy that keep the ball played by the opponents, then just enjoying see them frustation later. and then kick the ball to the front sometimes to get an opportunity, tiki-taka will always failed to fight catenaccio?? well, yesterday let see who meet chelsea in the final. have a nice day to you

But, I think there were two parts to that story. One was of course, the over-defensive tactics of Chelsea. But also poor defensive work by Barca to concede the goal from Ramires. Also I think Barca was over-playing their Tiki Taki game and that gave Chelsea so much chances to clear the ball.

jkct, the problem is the opponent of barcelona in La liga is not coward..yes, they use defensive tactics too..
but they never use formation 10 defenders and 1 goalkeepers like chelsea and real madrid..the team which say that they are bigger team...what a pity..
the bigger team but coward when using the normally tactics, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

Every team can do it against Barcelona even with 10 men? Ask the other 18 teams in La Liga, why can't they do it, even with 11 men?

It was a tremendous defensive display by a 10 man Chelsea team. The ironic thing was they were 2-0 down and from there on came back to equalize 2-2 on the night. That ensured an aggregate 3-2 win for Chelsea. For Barcelona this is probably the worst week they have endured in a long long time. Loss to Real Madrid and Chelsea would mean a trophy less season for them.

Unless you are a Barcelona fan, watching their games can be very boring. Barca will have most of the possession and the opponent defending with their lives. Based on the semi-final, it is clear that Barcelona only has one plan. That plan works most of the time and in the event that it failed, Barcelona does not have an alternative to get back into the match.

This is a great thing for Chelsea.Their start in Champions league was not good and they some how beat the champion Barcelona and have reached the final.I think Real madrid will win today by 2 goals and final is between Chelsea and Real Madrid!

It was the most extraordinary and dramatic football match I ever watched in my life. It was the only match that could keep me staring intently on the TV screen for the whole match. It was more like a chess game than a football match.
Chelsea played well enough - Di Matteo's tactic worked against the best team on earth. Barcelona was unlucky not to win. While Chelsea was defending well, Barcelona was not attacking that well. They could have shot more but they chose to only shoot when they were sure it would certainly be a goal. It was just too bad that they were not that sure.
Messi perhaps was the one that felt the worst with his failed penalty shoot. Any other days he would have shot in 100's out of 100 times but last night was a night he will want to forget. Terry was foolish. He nearly destroyed Chelsea. His dismissal made the result even more incredible for Chelsea.

I think that Chelsea made a wise choice giving Barcelona space in the midfield but closing all the spaces in from of their box. Tiki taka's purpose is to pass ball around endlessly till there is found a hole in the opponents defence so If they drained all their energy running behind Xavi, Iniesta and Messi in the midfield they'd be out of energy in the last 20 mins. It is something like a rule in football, a good defence brings success when offence isn't that sure. It wasn't catenaccio though, they didn't play unsportsmanlike, except the terry incident and a tackle by lampard made in the midfield, they were well positioned the whole game and since they were lucky too they've won the round. Now I hope that Bayern would be the second one :)
