She treated me trice. Wasn't it bad? I think she likes me and in fairness, I liked the foods.

Hi zills It depends on the intentions and how you handle them. I have been a teacher for almost 16 years and during this I not only have invited students over dinner but also have been invited. However my intentions of inviting them are only confined for personal assessment of why they dont study well - any personal problems or otherwise. My students too know this fact as I do believe there are somethings which are best felt and understood in personal one-to-one meetings which would not only help me find the reasons but also help me understand them better.

I agree with sids. It is okay to have dinner or other leisure activity s long as the event maintains distance and the focus is clear. It's okay to ask some time outside of the classroom for a chance to talk about things inside and outside of the classroom. Also, it helps to build relationship between teacher and students. students can see their teachers as human beings, not persons of authority and other preconceived image while teachers can also learn more about their students. So its a win-win situation for both parties.

Hi zills: I would say yes I know there's something wrong on this but I am an adult already and I think we could be friends after class and this should not be immoral or unethical if it's just that. So in my case it would be yes. I like to talk with people more experinced that me at the same time. ALVARO

I was known to be an extremely shy boy when I was in school.Talking to teachers was an embarrassment for me.So no question of inviting them to lunch or dinner. But if I had the courage to invite any one of them for lunch or dinner,I would certainly have invited them.It would have been a great pleasure and honor for me.
