I am single and I think they are more concern about your future. I do not have that kind of pressure from my parents yet but I can guess why they are like that because my grandmother would used to tell us that we should marry so that we can have our own children that can take care of us when we get old. She insisted that it is different when you have someone with your own flesh and blood to care for you. Maybe they just worried of who will take care of you when they are gone. A pure parents' love.

Being single is a personal choice. I am also single at the age of 28 not afraid of loving again after a hard broke up for a 5 year relationship but its my choice of becoming single until now. for me being single is a smart choice. Why? because I can do anything I want to do. I can concentrate for my career and for myself. I do not seen a man who is really responsible enough to take me seriously and understands me. I am waiting for someone who is worth to be love and wont waste my time loving him maybe at the right time God will give him to me but not now yet so I love being single. Being single is my freedom.

for me its not an obligation to be on that status. Its up to you if you decide to stay single or not. And also its not a sin.Why would you called that a sin? in fact you are very lucky if you remain single forever because you preserve your virginity to eternity and not wanting to taste pleasure of being a Human being because once you taste it you probably find it whatever it takes.

Maybe you could explain to them that being single is a personal choice. We are living at a time when fewer people are choosing to enter into a traditional marriage. There really is NO reason to experience guilt over something like that.
