Well its summer in my country but my boss didnt let me have a leave or vacation because you know I was like absent for a long time because of my appendix removal surgery... staying in the hospital is not a fun vacation, Its boring, and there is that post surgery pain I have to endure and the nurse have no bewbs. so My boss thinks that my stay in the hospital is my vacation for the year....
I want to burn under the sun drenching in the beach....
Damn it! no leave!

hello capt,
Like what I wrote from your other discussion, there is also no vacation for us this summer :P
But your case is different.
Your hospitalization case -was it under "emergency/sick leave"?
Then why your boss do not allow you to use your "vacation leave" which is legally allocated for you.
Granting your hospitalization consumed the 15 days leave for a year- is your boss not considerate enough to give you a proper vacation wherein you can relax. (too bad)

Sorry to hear that you do not get a vacation. That would be awful. I think that everyone and their family should try and take a vacation at least once a year. It can be hard to do but I think it's important. Hopefully time will go by fast so that you will be able to take your next vacation.

I am now saving one so can quit this industry soon, I need to buy a lot, turn it into an apartment and have people rent it. With that I can earn money and be lazy at the same time.

Oh, poor you. Actually a time when you was in the hospital can't be called as a vacation. You had to take days off for your sickness.
But he is your boss, then nothing to do with his decision. however, you can try go to sea as you want in summer in your weekend. 1-2 days is also enough if the sea is near your house.

well she thinks my position is way too important, plus you know I just got promoted and she thinks that is too much, after asking 2 months medical leave. I dont want to lose this job you know, even if I hated it.

I very much agree with Tashh. Maybe if you talk to her she will let you have just a few days off, that's still better than nothing. I understand that you have a lot of responsibilities (and congratulations on getting promoted ) and you don't want to lose your job, but she should understand you. Even though many emploers seems to think they hire machines instead of humans... after this long hospital stay you would still need some rest. Take care of yourself.

That really woud be a tough decision to deal with. I really agree with @almond24, she probably hasn't spent time in the hospital herself to know how much it sucks. I understand from reading your comments on this discussion that you were in the hospital for two months, which is a lot of time to miss from work, BUT it was a special circumstance.. It wasn't something that could be put off or avoided. I believe it should have been considered as a "sick leave" and I personally think you should get a vacation leave.
If I were you, I would talk to her and maybe work something out. You could say that you're aware that you missed a bit of time due to medical reasons and that you understand that was 2 months. Then, maybe you could ask her, if she would consider giving you a vacation, just maybe not as long as a regular normal one would be. Ask for a few days off instead of a week or two!!!
I think that's what I would do in your situation. It's worth a shot asking and you never know she may say yes. Just ask her to consider letting you have a few days off!! I hope this helped a little and I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully you will get to enjoy you summer and get a few days to relax! Good luck :)
Hopefully chat again in a future discussion!!

I would fight it. Obvious medical leave, which is your surgery in the hospital, is not vacation leave. They are two different things and actually your employer could get in loads of trouble for not letting to take time off because of a medical issue.

I was gone for 2 months, so I dont think she will let me have a 1 week vacation, she said that I shoulod be happy that I am highly paid. rules are different in my country though. she thinks my leave few months ago is enough,, so yeah no summer vacation for me

That's ridiculous! That was MEDICAL leave, not vacation. He should allow you the vacation just the same, as you NEED It after that ordeal.

Its a bad luck for you. You should try to fight your vacation back. Try to convince your boss with that. More than this nothing can help you.

You have consider many things before you complain. As them if you have enough leave left. Maybe works need to be accomplish early because that’s why she don’t want you to go on vacation. Then if you did not like the management style you can go and find another company that offers more benefits. Or work online t have a free time of working.
