Does the weather affect your mood everyday?

It is so strange that since I was a small child, the weather would put me in a different mood. Usually if the weather is sunny, I am in a wonderful. If it is a dark and gloomy day, I really get seriously depressed. I hate it when it happens though because I want to be in a good mood all the time.

Yes, I believe the weather affects your mood. There is even something called Seasonal Effective Disorder, known as the "winter blues" or "winter depression." I wish it could be nice and sunny all the time too, but there's no way to control mother nature.

The weather has a certain influence on my mood, but not decisive. If it's a gloomy day I might be in a state of melancholy, but if I have an achievement that day and if I have some money in my pocket I manage to cheer up.Even dark rainy days can be beautiful if something good happens in my life during those days.Of course, sunny days are my favorite, unless they're too hot,but I think we can feel good regardless of the weather if we try to think positively and search for the company of those who are close to us whenever we realize that sadness takes over our souls.

In my home country it is currently spring and the weather has been rainy lately. On the way to school yesterday there were high winds, loads of rain and puddles on the ground. I had to walk through some big puddles and couldn't jump over it. Today is dry so I feel happier but on the way to school the sky looked gray like it might rain again at anytime. I feel sad when my shoes get wet through with the rain. I find dark and gloomy days rather depressing. I adore sunny and hot days when I feel very happy. I went on a trip to South America and it was autumn there. Funnily enough it was better than our summer.Yes, the weather can change my mood but I try to rise above it.

Weds tues is supposed to be cooler this week and I woke up with cloudy skies. I in turn became gloomy in mood and everything was a drag. But with a sumptuous breakfast and coffee..my mood lightened up until this wee hours of the morning.

Nice Discussion Friend. Yes it is. Our Mood depends on weather when it is sunny our mood is amazing. But like most rainy weather when its rain and after that the rainbow are beautiful to watch.

I don't like walking in the rain to and from my job. It makes me sad to get wet and walk with wet cold feet.

I have a Summer mood and a Winter mood as a generality. I hate gray days, I feel chilly even if I´m near a heater and I don´t have any energy. I am sure that a doctor would call it depression although it´s not something you can overcome with pills. What I do is to take my vacations, if I can, in Winter nd go to a place with sunshine.

I don't know how they did this study, but they actually have done studies on how the weather may affect a person's mood. I'm sure it has something to do with instinct, but since humans are so evolved we don't have a need to pa attention much to how our instincts affects us. I don't know if that makes any sense to you. I understand what it means in my head, but it's hard for me to try to find a way to word it. But yes, I know the feeling of when the weather changes my mood. It's strange but very interesting! Happy MyLotting!

Well, I think everyone would always be in a good mood all day. Unfortunately it is not so! There are many factors that can affect a person's mood, one of these is without doubt the meteorological weather. Speaking for myself, maybe I make an exception. It bothers me, ok, when it rains, but otherwise, my mood swings is not due to weather change. My mood is affected by the events that I confront every day. A little thing to make me happy, but equally to be sad.

Hi surveychick, I agree with you...a day with sunshine really really makes me feel so much energy, just seems to make my day a a lot more warmer than a day a day without.... But to be honest with you I am happy ever single day that I am here on this earth,,,the sun makes me feel better like I said but anyday here is a wonderful feeling and a blessing... Weather it sunny or dreary,,being alive is enough to adjust to the day...make everyday a great day,,, Blessings!!!!!

When I'm feeling great emotions (like immense happiness or big grief), it isn't really effecting me, but it can make them even more strong. But usually it does. I think it has to do with colorsl. When it's dull/rainy/cloudy, because of the absense of sunlight, everything is greyer, and I feel so depressed and empty when I'm surrounded with faded colors. But when it's sunny, everything is bright, and that kind of makes me happy and brightens up my mood :).
